Walking in His Will...

Without Faith this would be impossible to do.
Hebrews 11.1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Probably the most profound truth in a short sentence.
We believe in something that is foolishness for those still walking in darkness or those that have rejected the gift of Love Divine.
When the world throws it's disbelief at you keep in mind this verse and remember that you have the Word of God to fall back on. However when one considers that in the time of Acts the New Testament was still largely inaccessible or unwritten, all those Christians had was Faith in what they had heard from other followers of Jesus and the support of fellow believers.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Our Faith is what opens up our walk in His will and enables us to be the tools that the Holy Spirit can use to be an example to others.

The Event

The Eastern USA has always been rather quite geologically speaking compared to the West coast with all it's faults. (I see a pun in here somewhere!) So this weeks quake was a wake up call to many there I suppose. So let us all remember who is in control...

The events this week remind me of a TV show on MNet recently called The Event, there was one episode where this monument was cracked and later on destroyed by the aliens.
This brings me to the subject of Eschatology... the study of End Times Prophecy.
I am not going to even hazard a wild guess as to when Jesus will return but I have for a long time been aware that we may well be in the time of his return, the world has seemed to have gone out of control of late yet at the same time I have a wonderful sense of peace about it all as I do really truly believe that God is in control and will be there for anyone that believes in His salvation through the Cross that Jesus gave all for us. We should not believe because of what we see around us but believe because what God has promised us. So fear not, God is in control of all events.
Be aware of things and be connected to the Word so you may be able to discern through the Holy Spirit the Truth from the deception that will be shown in these times.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." ^{Johnn. 3:16}

Enough already

Woke up at 6 am to more rain... it is now 10 am and it has not let up for a moment... this is 1988 deja vu! Many parts of the country are now flooded! We need a rainbow or two!
We have been having good, nay extraordinary good rains since before Christmas but since last Friday it has become Noachian rain!
While fitting new crashbars to Shrek I had to duck back inside a few times as the rain was flooding the carport... thankfully no tools or parts got washed away.

The black box was brim full by midday Saturday... and it is once again overflowing!

The access road has been a river on and off for the past few days...

So it seems we may need those rubber ducks and gumboots soon just to get to work...
I also had the resident engineer check out the new crash bars, L's kitten Misha is extremely inquisitive...

apparently they met her approval after a thorough looking over and nuzzle!

In between showers I was able to take the new bars for a test ride... Must say the new bars have tamed the vibes a lot... I can even see out of the bikes mirrors at 5000rpm... with the old bars it became a blur... Thanks to Harold and Matthew at Bike Gear for letting me be a Guinea pig...

Thou shalt have no other gods...

I never quite got that until these last few days. I was not going to comment on MJ but as things have happened that have bearing on celebrities and life in general that have to do with hero worship I am putting finger to keyboard. God is very clear in this regard and the consequence of not following His Word.
We have filled our modern lives with gods and idols, even going so far as to create a TV show to create idols! But it is the lesser idols and gods that do the most damage, the most insidious and harmful is what causes peer pressure. For when you look up to others for approval and worth you open yourself up to getting hurt and abused, very often without even realizing it. Only by loving God and having the realization of your worth in His eyes can protect you from this.
If I knew this when I was a kid I would have been a happier person, so would many others.
