Falkland furore

The recent rhetoric from the Argentine president clearly ignores one fact... the Islanders are not Argentinians by a long chalk.
Having visited Argentina I can also say that they are singularly obsessed with the Islands for a whole host of reasons but what we must never take out of the picture is the fact that the sea bed surrounding the Islands has a valuable commodity... OIL.
When Oil comes into the picture many countries loose their common sense and this is what is happening to the Argentine political Junta.
The Falklands will never become the Malvinas without an inordinate amount of violence I fear.
I love Argentina and the people but would be the first to say... Leave the Falklands alone! You may well remember these words from the last time... we all know how that ended.

Iguaçu Starry Night

We saw it by day... it is always amazing when I see something about Argentina on the news or other media... that feeling of "Yes... We were there!"

Thank you Moondancer for sharing that trip, it was worth it, enjoy the Girls Weekend!

The stars are bright tonight
And I am walking nowhere

Guess I will be alright
Desire gets you nowhere

And you are always right
I thought you were so perfect

Take you as you were
Have you as you were
Take you as you were

I love you just the way you are
I love you just the way you are
I'll take you just the way you are
Does anybody love the way you are?
Aaa aaa aaa

The stars are bright tonight
A distance is between us
And I will be ok
The worst I've ever seen us

And still I have my weaknesses
And still I have my strength
And still I have my ugliness

But i, i, i
I love you just the way you are
I love you just the way you are
I'll take you just the way you are
Does anybody love the way you are?

Aaaa aaaa aaaa aaaa aaaaa

I love you just the way you are
I love you just the way you are
I'll take you just the way you are
Does anybody love the way you are?

Aaaa aaaa aaaa aaaa aaaa aaaa aaaa

Agnus Dei

This is the time of the year when Christians commemorate of the birth of Jesus... Son of God but more important! Lamb of God who died for my sin and through his Spirit I attempt to live the Love he is and has shown us by his sacrifice on the Cross...

- - Alleluia, alleluia
For the lord God almighty reigns
Alleluia, alleluia
For the lord God almighty reigns
Alleluia

Holy, holy are you lord God almighty
Worthy is the lamb
Worthy is the lamb
You are holy, holy are you lord God almighty
Worthy is the lamb
Worthy is the lamb
Amen
so while doing the dishes I decided to listen to some Christian music and got FoxyTunes to look for more on YouTube. It found some in Spanish... Por español...

Another Spanish version, the song has a special sort of meaning when I heard it today in Spanish, the language we sort of picked up in Argentina...
Forgive me for not having done the Argentina trip yet, since getting back it has been rather hectic at work and blogging has not been a prime objective... will get around to that as soon as I can... In the meantime all I can do is praise God for the things he has done.

You are the Lord
The famous one
Famous one
Great is your name
In all the earth
The heavens declare
You're glorious, glorious
Great is your fame
Beyond the earth

Don't cry for me Argentina

Wow... our reservations have been made... My passport application has been done... Missing ones have been found...
We are on our way to Argentina!
What was an idea a few months ago is now gaining momentum.
Now we just have to figure out what to do in the week at our disposal... Patagonia is a tad far and we are thinking of the Iguassu falls... so we can also say we saw what Indiana Jones saw!
Moon Dancer is booked to deliver a talk on tick resistance when she attends the TTP6 conference... then we have a week to explore, hoping to get a bike trip into the planning as well. I will be scouting
Buenos Aires while she is kept busy with ticks...
We should also remember these wise words, but I think as bikers we should be able to travel light...
Will keep everyone posted as the planning etc. progresses.
