Out of hand

I notice that my Labels are getting out of hand and the only way to fix it will be to upgrade/migrate the blog to the newer customised template but the thought of all the stuff that has to be fixed is a daunting thought...
I also notice that my page hits counter has now surpassed the kilometre-age of Shrek, when did that happen? 5000 views, I am amazed and at the same time humbled that so many have taken a peek into my life, I trust you found something that made you think or just touched your soul in some way or another.

Have you had my meatballs yet?

I blame Patrick for this result! How is it possible? Me? the archetype nekkid cook like Jamie Oliver my hero! I love four things in life with a passion, well maybe more than four but the top two are my kids then Bikes and Cooking! This sucks...
You Are a Learning Cook

You've got the makings of an excellent cook, and the desire to be one.
But right now, you're just lacking the experience. You couldn't be a top chef yet, but you could be an apprentice.
Clearly Blogthings has never had my Italian Meatballs yet, I am famous for them... I am peeved... Speaking of peeved, Blogger via IE is broken... I just cannot log in! Yet when I dropped a comment over at KatieB and gave my log in data I could access the dashboard... what is up with that! Thanks KatieB for letting me use your comments as a back door to my blogs, Firefox has no issues in this regard. I suspect it was the recent Java Update that Microfart insisted on doing... grrrrr.
I was pleasantly surprised by my seamstress though... she fixed my favourite jeans as well as the two new ones I had splitteddowntheseam and my boxers I sometimes use for sleeping... sometimes things are not as well stitched as one would like and as the saying goes... a stitch in time saves nine. The total wa R36.00, works out to R6 per item! Now I must dig out all the other duds that need some love and attention, I love a pair of well worn jeans but some I have in my cupboard are not for public use any more, unless they can be made respectable once more... I hope so.
Oh... by the way... "Bloemfontein - Wing Eddie Fredericks struck twice in three minutes to clinch the Free State Cheetahs' 44-18 (half-time 10-6) win over the Blue Bulls in an enthralling Currie Cup match in Bloemfontein on Saturday." What can I say... the White Tornado is at it again! M just let me know that the Cheetah Girls won their game as well... 15-11! (Doing a victory war dance!) Whoooo boy!
L went to see Die Hard 4 and she enjoyed it... must be good then for her to enjoy a Man Thing movie! I may go and see it tomorrow if M feels up to it after his flight back from Cape Town. Either that or The Bourne Ultimatum or The Simpsons... I need a laugh or two. I also picked up a copy of Shrek3, the soundtrack and 100 80's Hits. Some good music on both albums... so I will exit with track 11 from Shrek...

What I Gotta Do - Macy Gray

Oooooooooh

Yeah, Girl a boy and a girl,
Never thought I'd have babies,
Looking up to me,
Wanna give them all the world,
Yeah, trying to make it, always gone,
You say, mommy don't go, ooh ooh,
And I don't wanna leave, uh uh (I don't wanna leave).

It's what I gotta do,
There's no place that I'd rather be than there with you,
It's what I gotta do to take care of you,
Make it right, ooh (make it right, make it right)
And I never make it,
But I have to hope you understand the circumstances,
I'll be there the second I get the chance,
What I gotta do.

Yeah, only you can rely,
Wanna give you the best of everything,
So I miss some things,
But you're always on my mind (always on my mind)
Yeah, I'm gonna show you the world,
But it ain't easy, ooh ooh,
But I don't wanna leave you (I don't wanna leave).

It's what I gotta do,
There's no place that I'd rather be than there with you,
It's what I gotta do to take care of you, (oh yeah)
Make it right, ooh (make it right, make it right)
And I never make it,
But I have to hope you understand the circumstances,
I'll be there the second I get the chance, (I'll be there)
What I gotta do.

Stars are in your eyes,
The sun is in your flower,
Easy to my churches,
You show me what my purpose is,
Girl, a boy, and a girl,
Sweetest in my world (sweetest in my world)
Hey hey, hey hey heyyyyyaaaah.

It's what I gotta,
It's what I gotta,
It's what I gotta take, ooooh.

It's what I gotta do,
There's no place that I'd rather be than there with you,
It's what I gotta do to take care of you, (a girl, a boy, and a girl)
Make it right, ooh (make it right, make it right)
And I never make it,
But I have to hope you understand the circumstances,
I'll be there the second I get the chance,
What I gotta do.
What I gotta do.
What I gotta do.
What I gotta do.

Feeding the ego or trashing the kitchen?

Blogger Layouts Customization is quite tricky, I am playing with my recipe blog (title link) at present to learn all the features and potential problems before embarking on a conversion here... There are only 12 postings so far. I already have "lost" my neat title grapics... sigh. I will get them back when I learn to get the kinks out of my template, the niche to put them in must be there somewhere!
If you want to use the "Label" function it seems one has to "convert" to the new customised layout..

Contentedly saving my content...

with spammers and other miscreants creeps out to deface and delete websites I have been wondering how to save my blog content to my PC. Blogger has one way but I found that using my trusty html editor Araneae I could save all the basic posts to one file. This does not save all the pictures though but seeing as I have 99% on disc already this is not a big issue. One can always Save Picture As any ones that you do not have on disc.
I was quite chuffed with my quick and dirty backup when I tried it... the only caveat is to set the amount of posts to more than you have posted, this is done in Settings/Formatting/Show, in your blog settings. Remember to make a note of this setting (usually 10) before attempting this then save the settings.

Then view the blog, in File you should see Edit With Araneae, oh before I forget... you will first have to download and install Araneae before doing this... I suppose if you have another HTML editor set up you could do the same. Araneae is very simple and I find it easier than most and better than Notepad for HTML. Back to the howto... load the blog in the editor and when it is done you can Save As to anywhere you like on your PC... easy huh?
Green = Blog Settings.
Black = Windows command Buttons or shortcuts.

Note to self... label yer postings asap and make a sidebar insert...

Eish... should I plunge in with the fishes?

I just noticed my promotion...
I'm a
Flippery Fish
in the
TTLB Ecosystem

It sure beats being a Slimy Mollusc... and to top it all Blogger wants me to test drive the new version of Blogger (in beta)... being more curious than a herd of cats and not one that is afraid to try out new things I may just do that this week... So... If you no longer see me I am away in the nether regions of Betavoid...

Update: 15h08
I am going to tweak the new layout by saving this one first then cut and paste it till it works properly.
The Beta has labels etc and some other nifty tricks I want to try so bear with me while I tinker under the hood...

By the way... Welcome to Groanin' Jock, he is new to the Blogosphere and has just started!

New Look

A new banner, the image of earth seen from Mars orbit. Our pale Blue Dot... with some techie drawing I made. As I have figured out how to do this the header may change from time to time.

Blank stare

Ok, ok... before I get hatemail... the missing pictures will be fixed... I have decided to take down my /blogimage folder on my real website... the images were making me overstay my welcome... 5Mb worth they were. They will be updated using the "Add Image" tool... way to go Blogger-dot-Com, once again, thanks for making it so easy now.

More to be added...
The Ageless project is still up and running by the way and is growing, when I first joined there were around 3 or 4 1954's, now go and have a dekko and see all my new contemporaries...
