Who died and made you president...

Or even God for that matter...
As an outsider I can view the coming American elections with some amusement but something has struck me of late... The Obamessahia seems to act like it is a done deal! Helloo? Who died and made you president?
If he does get elected then I am afraid the Americans commonsense has really left them, must be all the KFC and Macdonald's... then when it all goes pear shaped I can say... you got what you voted for.
Maybe the Americans need this to wake up and realize that politicians are the lowest form of life on earth?
I was prompted to post this by the current Rockwood by the way...

I am also reminded that others also aspired to be like God...
"How you have fallen from heaven, 0 morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High' But you are brought down to the grave, to the depths of the pit"
(Isa. 14:12-15)

I was so lucky

This was another manic Monday that just had too many things and too little time, but I was able to reflect on the weekend, had a great time at Dad's do, caught up with all the family and friends. Sunday evening was amazing because...

[via FoxyTunes / Roxette - I was so lucky]

It's no secret I've been waiting
but I didn't expect this
Nothing will remain,
nothing stays the same
after you came

It's no secret I've been starving,
I never felt anything for years
I sat up all night
just to watch your smile
when you're sleep'ng

I was so lucky you came by
and turned a different corner
I could've been somewhere else,
you could've passed by,
could've passed by

Come on and sail the sea with me
Come on, let's go around the world
Maybe find a flat or a canyon house
for the season

I was so lucky you came by
and turned a different corner
It could've been someone else
you had in mind

I was so lucky you found me
My rags turned gold and silver
I could've been somewhere else,
you could've passed by,
could've passed by

What would you make of this, my baby?
The sun through the trees
Is there a better place to be?

I was so lucky you came by
and turned a different corner
It could have been someone else
you had in mind, oh my

I was so lucky you picked me
My trash turned to silver Yea,
I could have been somewhere else,
you could've passed by,
you could've passed by
Not much else to say is there now...
"Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage, and confidence."
Og Mandino (1923 - 1996)

Sound familiar?

Please meet Jean at Pondering... the force is strong with this one. She writes some stunning poetry that touches my heart and reflects many of my moods and experiences. I hope she does not mind me taking this excerpt from her blog...
Write your life...
Whether it be like this or in letters to yourself,
as in a journal, or a diary.
Write everything about you so that others
may know. How you lived.
What you thought. When you cried.
Loved and laughed. Did you dream?
It may be found some day, and those who
knew you. Might cry. Might laugh.
Might gasp, "That's why!"
"That's when!" "That's where!"
Then again, a stranger might find you
in your words. And know you better than
all those others. Take you home.
Live with you another life.
See in you another way. Love their life again.
Find the path. Forgive their pain.
See the stars.
You are a book. A poem. A song.
Write your life.

Another person that believes in being a witness to others lives, I am linking to her blog to do so... May she prosper and grow strong. (Jedi theme today)
"History is the witness that testifies to the passing of time; it illumines reality, vitalizes memory, provides guidance in daily life and brings us tidings of antiquity." Cicero (106 BC - 43 BC), Pro Publio Sestio
