One of the most common statements in the Christian vs Aethiest argument is that Christians follow a Bronze Age faith believed by goat herders, very derogatory and of course totally untrue when one sees the lists of scientists that believe in Jesus and his Gospel. I should know... I am involved with one!.
Lists that show this is a fallacy can be found all over the Internet such as the following;
Famous Scientists Who Believed in God
List of Christian thinkers in science
So to denigrate and stereotype us Christians as stupid sheep is an insult but at the same time a compliment as we follow the Greatest Shepherd of all time!
"In comparing religious belief to science, I try to remember that science is belief also." ~Robert Brault

Busines should stick to what they are good at
... namely running the business. As soon as they bring politics or religion into decision making they are heading for a rocky ride from consumers.
Case in point is ABSA with their Springbok rugby player quota demand and now we have Woolworths withdrawing religious and political magazines.
Now I want to ask Woolworths CEO Simon Susman what about newspapers, matzos crackers, Christmas ham/turkey and halal chickens? Are they also going to be taken off the shelves too because they may offend certain customers? I leave with this thought...
"Political correctness does not legislate tolerance; it only organizes hatred."

Cry me a river
Dear Mr Rasool, let me explain something to you;
1. You arrive at Heathrow from Malaysia, a muslim country known to harbour islamic nutcases, not from SA. That set off a warning bell.
2. You claim the following;
"Rasool attended the conference in London on his way back from the World Islamic Economic Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He said his experience illustrated the sentiment, felt by many Islamic nations, that their money was welcome in many countries, but they were not."
Does the fact that not one islamic nation/organisation has organised a protest AGAINST fanatics of your faith to cut out their shit not been the reason why we distrust you?
So drop the victimisation thing and get off your butt and organise your fellow muslims to denounce terrorism and 17'th century practices and move into the 21'st century. Then, and only then you may be welcome...

Pulling a Peter on Christmas
I was over on Jana's blog when I realised that much of the "Christian" world is doing exactly what Peter did by disowning Jesus after the Crucifixion by changing the wording of this time of joy when we celebrate the birth of Jesus. I am not going to debate the other issues regarding whether this is the true date etc.
The issue is that we are afraid to stand up for our belief in the Savior Jesus by calling it "Winter Holiday's" and other watered down names.
People this is Merry Jesus-Christmas! We may not back down on this because if we want to truly spread the Gospel we have to do it in a forceful way not by timidly backing down when someone says we are infringing on their "rights" not to be exposed to the Gospel. I mean we are talking about His Majesty, Wondrous Saviour and Ruler of the Universe.
There is no other God in any case!
So what are we afraid of?
He gave us the RIGHT to celebrate His coming to the world to save us all from sin so let us celebrate this day and proclaim His sovereignty in our lives and be an example to the world so others may see the Light and the Truth and hunger for this joy we have.

Time to buy swords
I found this over at Samizdata quote of the day and he calls it the Quote of the millennium... let me explain;
This is the quote by Jesus from Luke 22:36 NIV...
He said to them, "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one".
Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take [it], and likewise [his] scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. KJV
Why did He say this? When one looks at this verse it actually sems like He was proposing violence. However one has to look at the context and to me the actual meaning is that somtimes Christians need to be prepared to defend themselves from violence with violent means, especially when the persons do not want to hear the message of peace that He brought to the world.
Today we live in such times... many have heard the Word but resist it violently, no one can tell me that many of islam's top leaders and teachers have not heard what Jesus stands for yet they reject the stone... They are the reason Christians are allowed to go and buy a sword...
There are other interpretations but as I apply Occam's razor this is the most sensible meaning to me. Yes, verse 37 explains how He must be regarded as a transgressor, however having a sword (actually a dagger as I have found out) was not an offence but deemed to be essential to one's survival in those times.
He did not want his followers to go about beheading those that did not want to convert but conversely He did not want his followers to let evildoers have free reign over his followers... when we see evil being perpetrated He does not want us to be spectators but to use the sword to fight the evildoer... all the time saying a prayer of course...
