Begging at the gate called Beautiful

I was a beggar at the gate called Beautiful,
I stood up and walked as you commanded,
I danced for joy and praised your name.
But what can I do for the beggar at the gate?

Money and silver I have not,
Gold and riches I am wont,
Yet I have a gift more precious than
ruby.
Let my life now witness the gift of eternity.

May I be a channel for your Spirit,
May I be a light when there is dark,
May I be what you want of me.
Lest I forget the beggar at the gate called Beautiful.

[via FoxyTunes / Don Fransisco - Grace on Grace]

When God came and lived among us
We could see His glory shine
A glory like no one before Him
Nor will be through endless time
Far beyond the power of angels
Wholly God and wholly man
So full of grace and truth and mercy
With a Shepperd's gentle hand

Moses gave the Law to bind us
The prophets spoke just as they had heard
But Jesus came and lived among us
And we touched the Living Word
Seeing Jesus, we saw the Father
The Great Physician, the sinner's Friend
Loving all who would receive Him
And he loved us to the end

Virgin-born the Son of David
By jealous hatred was crucified
Oh, but the grave just could not hold Him
And He arose, no more to die
Rising sun of life unbounded
The light of all who ever see
And from His overflowing bounty
Grace on grace He gave to you and me

When Jesus came and lived among us
We could see His glory shine
When He ascended to the Father
He made the glory yours and mine
The promised power -- His Holy Spirit
Has come to make our hearts His home
To shine the righteous light of Jesus
Until He comes back to claim His own
'Til He comes back to claim His own
Today God touched me in a personal way, pastor's sermon was based on Acts 3, a chapter together with Acts 14, which I have been re reading ever since Wednesday when I was told I could start walking on my leg. Getting a message confirmed in this way is awesome. We are reminded that we are supposed to reach out in faith and touch peoples lives, not always the easiest thing to do... God will grant you the wisdom through his Spirit to be able to do and say the right thing when next you get to the beggar at the gate called Beautiful. (the opening poem is courtesy of my muse)

90 Degrees

Today I feel like the man in Acts 14:10 and called out, "Stand up on your feet!" At that, the man jumped up and began to walk.
To others it may not be a miracle but to me it is, I can now put my weight on my leg and walk on it, albeit still with the assistance of crutches. My Physiotherapist consulted the doctor after last weeks session and this was the result, she felt I was way past ready for the big step. When she said the brace bend could be set to 90 degrees I did it myself! I have a few new exercises to do but the main one is to walk as much as I can. Just like riding a bicycle, at each step it gets better.
Thanks for all the good wishes and prayer, it has helped!
I also won a prize over at Moondancers dance floor... a day full of surprises, discovery and joy.
Now I am off to take a warm bath to ease the tired muscles and to unwind...

A-maze-ing!

Pop your poem/lyrics into the box after clicking on the link with cut and paste and be amazed... Some people are just so creative. This is a app on Sveriges Radio by the way, not that I understand a word of Swedish, but the application takes phrases from songs to match your words and then puts it all together as a song using these sound bytes.
I can drive... Had to concentrate more than usual and leave a good 10 second gap but at least I am no longer dependent on the kids to run me about and go on shopping errands. Amazing how soon muscles start to work again. So I am looking forward to being able to go to Church under my own steam tomorrow.
Another amazing thing is the Bok's win over Tonga... that was a close one and I was on the edge of the chair the whole game! If we had kicked all conversions and penalties it would have been much better, losing discipline did not help matters either, having 2 in the sin bin made things tough for the other 13 players. It always amazes me that players at this level still lose control to the detriment of the team.

Eina!

I think I overdid my exercises yesterday... I have backache, bellyache, and even my arms are sore... so I only did two sessions today... and I can move my foot more than yesterday, yay! Tomorrow I will see if I can get behind the wheel... Shrek has been serviced and repaired and should be back under the carport on Tuesday... seems like it will still be at least 5 weeks before we can head out on the highway again... dang! I have an itch that needs scratching...
TUT had this to say today "Think of everyone on the planet, everyone, as your special friend...And so they shall become. Dang."
When I look at my favourites and my Blogroll I can see that, some of those bloggers feel like close friends and some even are. Others touch my soul and others make me think, then there are the guys that just think like me. However others have faded from the scene... as one fades a new star usually rises. It makes life interesting.
No music or vids today... I am on a musical sabbatical, I am not in the mood for music at present, it kind of hurts too much... I am working on a music blog though... keep watching for Angelic Voices, it will be worth it I promise.

Footnote: Eina is an Afrikaans colloquialism for "Ouch".

Trees, tantrums and Cupid

You Are A Hornbeam Tree
You are a reserved person, looking in from the outside.
Naturally attractive, you take good care of your looks.
You are not egoistic, and you make life as comfortable as possible.
You look for kindness in others - though you are seldom happy with yourself.
A bit mistrusting and unsure, you dream of being swept away by someone unusual.

Ok, some of my friends may disagree... Found this over on Scully's Skywritings. It makes me feel less foolish when someone of her talent also has fun with Blog Quizzes. Sometimes we all need a diversion.

I came close to tossing my toys out of the window today, our network was having a diarhetic fit and it took me ages to update my data on the network, get some work done as well as trying to maintain a chat in G-mail that kept falling through the ports. I'm having a typical Monday. Not a happy chappy... The only good thing is I am sitting at home and not in the office. Enough moaning...

My daughter likes Chris Daughtry's music and after listening to his song "It's not over" I see why... so I found the video and lyrics, once again thanks to FoxyTunes... enjoy. One of the better performers to have come out of the Idols mill as far as I am concerned.

[via FoxyTunes / DAUGHTRY]- It's not over.

I was blown away What could I say It all seemed to make sense. You've taken away everything That I can't do without. I try to see the good in life. But good things in life are hard to find. I'll blow it away, blow it away Can we make this something good? (well I'll try to do it right this time around) let's start over, I'll try to do it right this time around It's not over Cause a part of me is dead and in the ground. This love is killing me But you're the only one It's not over. I've taken all I can take And I cannot wait We've wasted too much time Being strong and holding on Can't let it bring us down My life with you means everything So I won't give up that easily I'll blow it away, blow it away Can we make this something good? Cause it's all misunderstood (Well I'll try to do it right this time around) Let's start over, I'll try to do it right this time around It's not over Cause a part of me is dead and in the ground. This love is killing me But you're the only one It's not over. We can't let this get away Let it out, let it out Don't get caught up in yourself Let it out. Let's start over We'll try to do to it right this time around Its not over Cause a part of me is dead and in the ground. This love is killing me But you're the only one It's not over. Lets start over Its not over Yeah yeah This love is killing me But you're the only one It's not over
Great music and lyrics with a very competent voice. I like! So as I sat listening I was run over by my poet muse, whom I swear bears a striking resemblance to that winged archer... once again I feel the scorching of the sun on my exposed heart... this was the result. Yeah... I know... I'm a hopeless romantic and a vrot poet...

Tell me - Robert Le Noury
How do you stop a runaway boulder?
How do you stop loving eyes so blue?
Please tell me how?

How do you stop the wind from blowing?
How do you stop loving a heart so good?
Please tell me how?

How do you stop the rain from falling?
How do you stop loving a mind so keen?
Please tell me how?

How do you stop a heart from racing
Every time you hear her voice?
please tell me how?

How do you stop the sun from shining
like it shines when I see her face?
please tell me how?

How do you stop from falling again
when she touches your hand?
Please tell me how?

How do you stop the rushing waves
when her lips kiss yours?
Please tell me how?

Tell me how
Tell me why
Tell me where
Tell me when
Then I'll tell you I will never stop loving her.
I suppose having Winamp play blues all day and being home alone this evening does effect my mood... One good thing about being alone is that I do not need to close the bathroom door, the door and crutches make it a pain... tonight it was a wizz... Excuse the pun. Tuesday will be better! I am glad to hear that my good friend KatieB is starting to reap the benefit of her fitness/diet programme, I cannot wait to be on two legs myself to start walking again, I want to trim some tummy myself... it is always a good thing. I hope she puts up some of those beautiful church pictures she took on her last trip to her parents.
You can't buy love, but you can pay heavily for it.

Ps... blogger is being a bad boy too, it keeps losing my text formatting!

Back after the break..

The author of Ramblings from a Blue Dot, my friend rObC had a motorcycle accident on Friday, 17 August. He was admitted to hospital and his knee was operated on saturday. He was discharged this morning and is at home. He can tell you all the gory details himself, as soon as he gets behind his PC - I am just relieved to say: rObC - I'm glad you are OK, please take it slowly and get better soon. Love KatieB
