Another Tuesday Twit

Sounds more like a...

"Scientists from the department could perhaps help us and come up with instruments that could help community members protect themselves against lightning."
It already exists! It is called a lightning rod Numsa... a simple metal pole taller than the thatch hut placed a a few meters away to cause the lightning to pass harmlessly down the pole instead of setting fire to the thatch and burning the people inside...
The punch line must be this quote:

"The department has dealt with floods and fires, but lightning was new to us,"
said Dube.

Dear Nomsa... do yourself a favor and learn how to Google a subject before making a Twit of yourself in public.
This may come in handy, seems like the interwebs have the answer to your question already! What really puzzles me rather is that people voted for her? This is more evidence that we humans are losing our common sense as well as becoming more stupid it seems. Loved the movie by the way...
Now let me go and wipe the spilled coffee off my shirt, my laughing caused the spill while reading this news item...
"If you are caught on a golf course during a storm and are afraid of lightning, hold up a 1-iron. Not even God can hit a 1-iron." Lee Trevino .

Politicians are clueless...

twits when it comes to matters technical, case in point is our dear Patricia de Lille. She recently railed about anonymous comments that were put up on some blog criticising her dear friend Simon Grindrod.
"The only way to put a stop to this is to use every legal option to hold not only the website, but also the perpetrator, responsible. This kind of thing must not go unchallenged."
Dear Pat and Simon... trying to trace that comment if and when you get the necessary court order, that would be infringing on the blog site's owners privacy rights by the way as well he rights of the ISP's in question, not to mention the cost involved... why not worry more about crime and joblessness! I wonder how she found out about it in any case? Spending a lot of time on the Web in parlament are we Ms de Lille?

The NSPCA gets this weeks Tuesday Twit Award for

wanting to ban Elephant Safaris, why stop there? Why not ban the use of all animals for any purpose whatsoever... or even better... ban humans from the planet!
The
NSPCA and their Greenpeace tree hugging ilk would prefer the human species to be wiped off the face of earth for the good of Gia... Goretards GoreBots the lot of 'em I say!
In the first place these elephants seem to enjoy taking tourists for rides and secondly they provide a job opportunity for the guide and the lodges that do these safaris, without this there would be less elephants and a jobless local poaching them! These moonbats have no clue to the instruction The Old Man gave us when He said in Genesis "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."
Subdue means manage and preserve. Dominion means look after and protect as a ruler does to his country. Nowhere does His Word say we are to torture and destroy. By taming elephants, which is very easy to do by the way when done with TLC, we can ensure that people have an income and at the same time the very habitat of this magnificent beast can be preserved for the animals and the people.
I for one do not condone the maltreatment of any animal but to shoot the goose laying the golden egg is downright stupid to me. So from me to the NSPCA... do not come begging at my door for any alms...
Update: I will no longer use Goretard as this is a respected surname in the colder parts of Europe... heceforth I will refer to the followers of Al Gore as GoreBots.

Tuesday Twits or Am I poking the hornets nest?

I left the following on the Hamas webite...
Crusader South Africa
Exalted Above Nations
I agree with Urall, with the exception that present day palistinians are not related to the ancient Phillistines at all so they have no claim what so ever over Gaza.

Urall Dipshitz USA
Exalted Above Nations
I believe the Israel that should be recognized is the one that built the temple mount and temples long before the invention of a false historical Palestine on the West Banks. Its borders should be a combination of the ancient lands of Israel and Judah. You know, the ones that Allah gave to Israel according to the Koran. suras [ 17:103 & 5:21 ] with the City of David as its eternal capital. Palestinians should create their new country and live in their historical area of Phillistia or Gaza as it is now known today

abu yussif unoccupied palestine
and by the exact same logic, no one should worry if "israel" or the world doesn't recognize the palestinians. who needs it?

Al Aqsa sri lanka
well said.israel does not have borders and a constitution as the zionsits think they are some special choosen people who have the right to control entire middle east.

To Abu and Al Aqsa... you have no clue have you?

Tuesday Twit

Microsoft, for the copy protection implemented in Vista... this is going to be a deal breaker in my humble opinion.
Many people have legitimate copies of media in their possession and now the Lords of Redmond want to dictate what I may or may not see on MY PC with their software?

Shame on you Vodacom!

This is SPAM in my book... oh and by the way the frikkenMeercat sucks... and I am not alone.
"Though conventional wisdom has it that spamming is illegal, Leon Perlman, chairperson of the Wireless Applications Service Provider Association (Waspa), says current legislation is weak concerning the issue. "The legislation doesn't define spam clearly. It only refers to unsolicited commercial communications," Perlman says.
According to section 45 of the ECT Act, anyone who sends unsolicited commercial communications to consumers must provide the consumer with the option to cancel his/her subscription to the mailing list.
(pretty plain and clear meaning to me.) The sender must also disclose the source from which they obtained the consumer's personal information if requested by the consumer."

What is not clear? Unsolicited is unsolicited i.e. SPAM you dunces! And then to have the temerity to charge the customer to unsubscribe from something they did not ask for is CRIMINAL!
If MTN does that too me they will be in court the next day. So far they have not gone down the slippery slope that Vodacom has.

Flaming Hell... More Tuesday Twits...

don't these people know the slightest spark can set this off? This is the second time this year as well and I think last year 1000 people were toasted. The pictures say it all... (warning graphic!)
"Witnesses said the rupture on the gasoline pipeline came shortly after midnight, with scavengers collecting the fuel in plastic jerry cans for hours before the puddles of collected petrol caught fire after dawn.
It wasn't clear what caused the rupture or ignition of the spilled fuel."

This deserves a Tuesday Twit Award.

Our Tuesday twit is Mongane Wally Serote... But we will remember them, we don't need no steenkin wall!

Mongane Wally Serote is a twit, unfortunately his stance cannot be changed because his views are just as cast in stone as the wall he and his ilk are building between communities in this country. So Wally, thanks but no thanks, we will remember our fallen in other ways.
We will write books about their deeds, we will keep them in our memories and put their names on virtual walls for all the world to see.

I would rather see the names of our heroes, both living and dead on these memorials than with those of people that blew up innocent non combatants and necklaced so called collaborators in the townships. Terrorism is not heroism.

Some online memorials can be found here;
Saffer Wiki an online repository that is being built for all SA related military matters, from as early as we can gather, as well as the opponents side of things.
Honoris Crux recipients.
From a hero's daughter's perspective.

Tuesday Twit('s) - Aspiring muslim commits web rage...

What is it with them? Even aspiring muslims seem to be prone to violence... and they call it a religion of peace?
"The pair met in an internet chatroom called Yahoo, Islam 10 as both had an interest in the Muslim faith, the Old Bailey was told."
