Now one can see the WWW

This is a view of the Real Time Web Monitor, showing the web traffic. Just one of six views of the Internet and the traffic around the globe. Thanks Akamai!
Great to see corporations letting us mere mortals see what the Net Techies see, it gives one an idea of how the traffic is generated and what amazed me was to see America waking up on the Net, when this was snapped China was asleep, earlier the day the country was a bright white!

Internetspeak

Or why people are too lazy to use proper grammar and a spell checker when posting on the Internet...
Today's Rockwood poses the question I have been asking myself lately as well, one sees this type of "speaking" on many blogs. The thing I have noted is that a lot of them are of the "Liberal" (read Moonbat) inclination. Rosie O'Donnell is one of them and she is supposed to be educated!
Is this a indication of the level of education or rather a affectation brought on by liberal inclinations? Or is it from smoking too much pot?
I am inclined to believe the latter...
It is just one of my many theories why we have Moonbats you see...

Cry me a river

Dear Mr Rasool, let me explain something to you;
1. You arrive at Heathrow from Malaysia, a muslim country known to harbour islamic nutcases, not from SA. That set off a warning bell.
2. You claim the following;
"Rasool attended the conference in London on his way back from the World Islamic Economic Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He said his experience illustrated the sentiment, felt by many Islamic nations, that their money was welcome in many countries, but they were not."
Does the fact that not one islamic nation/organisation has organised a protest AGAINST fanatics of your faith to cut out their shit not been the reason why we distrust you?

So drop the victimisation thing and get off your butt and organise your fellow muslims to denounce terrorism and 17'th century practices and move into the 21'st century. Then, and only then you may be welcome...

D Day

We shall remember them.

1944 - World War II: Battle of Normandy begins. D-Day, code named Operation Overlord, commences with the landing of 155,000 Allied troops on the beaches of Normandy in France. The allied soldiers quickly break through the Atlantic Wall and push inland in the largest amphibious military operation in history.
On this day the Internet was also born...

1969 - The first Internet connection was created when network control protocol packets were sent from the data port of one IMP to another.
Both events were milestones in Freedom.

Belly up

This is Lilly showing off her pink belly and the stiches from her visit to the Kittyvet... she is much better today but when she got back last night she was spitting mad at the Man... she will be glad she took the trip in the Boxthing though, too many kitties get born that never find good homes like me and she did...
She also has her own MyVet tag on her collar, just in case we get lost.

Here's a thought...

since Americans are so wound up by the proposed immigration legislation and the influx from Mexico. Why not just buy the friggen country from the Mexican government... See, instant citizenship and no more border crossings... I am sure Bill Gates and George Soros have enough small change lying around to swing the deal. They can rename it Gatsoros!

Snuggletime

I like Lilly because she likes snuggling with me... we have great fun even when sleeping!

Some men never grow up...

and keep buying naff toys like my new LCD screen, by the way the Blog on screen is pretty Naff too, worth a peek if you are geek inclined.

Then there is a Numeric keypad,

Soundblaster Live USB for better sound,

External USB Drive,

Laptop accessories,

and...

a HP laptop. These will have to last a few years though! The kitty on screen is Amber, looking all pensive.
I am quite chuffed with the external drive's performance and will be getting one each for the kids as well, one can never have enough drive space!

Walkabout of the Old Farts

The Aborigines do it and I am planning to do it too... go walkabout that is. I am planning a holiday for 2008 and with a few mates of former military persuasion we have tentatively hammered out a plan to do a battlefield tour of the places we trod as troopies last century. As this is a major operation of epic proportion it has to be well planned to ensure a flawless execution. So I will be updating the project from time to time.
An appropriate name will also be needed, I suggested "Ops Grumpy Old Fart", so far it seems to have been accepted!
More to follow...
