(Explitives deleted) half my mp3's have gone up in smoke... grrr, had a 10 gig hard disk crash last night just as I was posting the blog, it mucked up IE and all my links... at least the PC is now jury rigged with a 500 meg disk in place of the fried one untill I get a new disk next week... Now where did I put those backups? Now I have to rip all those songs from my CD's again, at least I have the playlist so I can rebuild some semblance of my former digital music collection... Hey... what's that clunk clunk sound? "Confucius say... he who no backup no hair on head"
At least my Masters of Chant remained intact... I really enjoy their interpretation of modern pop in Gregorian chant style.I have not really been a Metallica fan but their rendition of Nothing else matters has made me look at some heavy metal songs in a new light.
Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
So close no matter how far
couldn't be much more from the heart
forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters
never opened myself this way
life is ours, we live it our way
all these words I don't just say
and nothing else matters
trust I seek and I find in you
every day for us something new
open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters
never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know
so close no matter how far
couldn't be much more from the heart
forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters
never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know
never opened myself this way
life is ours, we live it our way
all these words I don't just say
and nothing else matters
trust I seek and I find in you
every day for us something new
open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters
never cared for what they say
never cared for games they play
never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
and I know
so close no matter how far
couldn't be much more from the heart
forever trusting who we are
no nothing else matters
What with diffrent friends inviting me out two nights in a row it is getting hard to get the blog done on time and then old Murphy still chucks his spanners in the works, hopefully things will stabilise by tomorrow...
The quote of the day is particularly apt in the light of the fortunes of my data...
"Archaeology is the only profession where your future lies in ruins."
