And meanwhile it seems to be the coldest winter in a long time as well... Duck, we just know too little about our planet to jump to conclusions regarding global warming, no one seems to be factoring in the Solar effect wich is afffecting Mars as well. :-)

Regarding your August 10th comment, yes, consensus.
British scientists have determined 2005 was the warmest year on record in the Northern Hemisphere and the second warmest year overall since the 1860s when reliable records began.
NASA says 2005 No. 1!
