This video is so relevant with what has been happening on our roads of late, another Wild Dog was killed while commuting in Cape Town. Kevin Brookes loved motorcycles and brought that out in his art as well. This is one of his drawings of well known Dakar rider Alfie Cox. Condolences to his family and friends... you will never be forgotten! So we have suggested that in honor of Kevin all road users should begin using the Kevin Brookes rule; "Before I start and move off I promise to be considerate towards all other road users, obey the rules and enjoy the drive/ride." If every road user does this we will save so many lives that are currently being lost through lawless and inconsiderate road behavior. This will also make the lives of law enforcement so much easier as well, as they would be able to notice those who disobey and flaunt the rules so much easier. We should also petition the powers that be to redress the corruption and other malpractice that does happen as well as have more visible policing and less static speed trapping... currently the focus is skewed toward the enforcement of speed restrictions an less on moving violations, these are the real killers. So my wish is that we all Embrace Life and be Unpredictable Heroes by implementing Kevin's Rule when we use our roads.

I started a blog on "how to" way back in 2007 but as I only had 2 posts I am now taking down that blog... here was/is the contents; Post 1 I frequently get asked "How do you do that on your blog?" so I thought it was about time to put my Blog Bashing Guide together. Feel free to ask a question, I will get to it sometime and try and point you to the right place or put a Bash Guide together to explain the steps to take. I will use this and my next postings to explain how to add elements etc. Post 2 This is assuming that you are using the new version of blogger with Customise option. You may want to click on each image to make it clear/larger as to see what I am talking about. Step 1 - After logging in to your blog you will see a link named Customise, this will open the Template Editor when you click on it, shown by my crude yellow arrow on the top right. Step 2 - Once you click on Customise the Template Editor will open, you will notice that there may be several places where it says Add a Page Element, as you want to add a blogroll to the side of your layout chose that part by clicking on that particular Add a Page Element link. Step 3 - A new window will open with a whole lot of things to select, as we want a Link List click on that elements Add To Blog link. Step 4 - Now we have to add a header for your list and put some links in it, the header can be added in the Title input field. The link name is added in the New Site Name input field. The URL is added in New Site URL input field. All indicated by the yellow arrows. Once this is done you click on Add Link. The link will be set up and you may then add the next or click on Save Changes. Then click on View Blog to see how it looks in real life... You will now see your Blogroll with the title you gave it and the links you added, you can edit any element on your blog by using the Wench/Screwdriver icon. Hereendiththelesson. I recently got the opportunity to test a K75 Heidenhau rear tyre for the KLR, here are the pics I took just after the wheel was fitted. many thanks to Harold at BikeGear for the opportunity!
The K75 has a nice aggressive look. New K75 and well worn K60... Close up of the wear on the K60. This is after approximately 8000 Kilometers, the best wear I have ever had so far from a rear on the KLR. After the test I think I will be back on a K60. Another comparison between the two. The K75 is not a tar tire but as I do a bit of commuting as well we want to see how it holds up in this regard, many DS riders want a agressive dirt tire that does have some tar use as well. I think in this respect I will be able to give it a good test. Now all I have to do is go and put some kilos on the tire... or is that tyre?. I'm no good at DIY. I'm terrible with computers, too. Last time we rode this road MD and me had some "Boulder" trouble, well since then Mitchell's pass has been fixed and the ride home was more like a highway trip down the mountain... but not boring at all, it still took concentration around the curves. This time it was a solo ride back to Bloem and apart from the wind quite uneventful, fortunately the trick of sticking a knee into the gale does help. Will do some backposts with pics we took, hopefully my blogging will pick up again in 2010.

Boxing day at Hoggies we went sightseeing, showing the new visitors some of the sights of this enchanting village... as we left the Chapel on the Hill this greeted us!
What is amazing to me is the way the sun fell on the tree.. which has a resemblance to a Cross. Coincidence? I do not believe that for one instance. God is always with us and has given us the greatest gift of all.
