Pop quiz

You are .mp3 The kids love you. You get along with just about everybody except the music industry. You really make yourself heard.
Which File Extension are You?
Jawellnofine... it's me to a T... :-)
You are OS2-Warp. You're plagued by feelings of abandonment and disgust for your backstabbing step-brother. Oh, what might have been.
Which OS are You?
Ummmmm... how did they figure that? I prefer Linux! But this is better than MS!
Ok, enough with the quizzes on to the pop! Ever heard of Lambretta? neither had I till I heard Bimbo and from the samples on their website they sound amazing, not your usual American pop but pop with some substance and a kicking attitude. Fun to listen to. The Baltic countries seem to have some very original groups with good music.
The Rasmus, HIM, Nightwish and the oldie ABBA. Then of course we have the land down under... The Bee Gees were the biggest with John Paul Young and Olivia Newton John a close second, today we have Kylie and her sister Danni and Delta Goodrem of course, all in all great artists. Homegrown ones are Seether, NiaNell (who sounds very much like Delta Goodrem), Tree63, Mandoza and quite a whole plethora of others, just a pity South African artists are looked down on when they try to break into the American market.
Tonight I sign off with an oldie.
Written by Bob Dylan but I think Olivia made it famous.
If not for you
If not for you
Babe I couldn't even find the door
I couldn't even see the floor
I'd be sad and blue
If not for you

If not for you
Babe the night would see me wide awake
The day would surely have to break
And it would not be new
If not for you

If not for you my sky would fall
Rain would gather too
Without your love I'd be nowhere at all
I'd be lost if not for you

If not for you
The winter would hold no spring
Couldn't hear a robin sing
I just wouldn't have a clue

It not for you
If not for you my sky would fall
Rain would gather too
Without your love I'd be nowhere at all
I'd be lost if not for you

If not for you
The winter would hold no spring
You couldn't hear a robin sing
I just wouldn't have a clue
If not for you
If not for you
Hope you liked that flashback. I tend to agree with tonight's quote.
"I learned in the last few years that it's really unhappy and really unsustainable to try and base your well being on something as arbitrary as record sale and critical acclaim and the interests of the public. All of those things are so fickle. So my approach now to music is I want to make records that I love, and I hope that other people love them, then that's OK." Moby, quoted on CNN.com, March 2005
