Contemplating

What one will I swat next?

Wir Sind Wir and Garfield is Ubercat

We are what we are, not always by choice but certainly by the way we live. Had great fun with the kids today, even got around to Garfield at the movies... man! I love that cat. I loved the last song where he dances on the porch for the last time to the James Brown song I feel good, all in all a very good family movie well worth watching. As I was ripping some of my Paul van Dyk's cd's I took a second listen of Wir sind Wir and then found this on the web when looking for the lyrics as this song intrigued me by the tone and inflection in the way it is sung:
Wir Sind Wir - Paul van Dyk - (Lyrics Peter Heppner)
Tag um Tag, Jahr um Jahr,
Wenn ich durch diese Straßen geh',
Seh ich wie die Ruinen dieser Stadt
Wieder zu Häusern auferstehen.

Doch bleiben viele Fenster leer,

English Translation:

Day by day, year by year.
When I'm walking along this street,
I'm seeing the ruins growing up to houses.

Many windows still stay empty,
there was no return for many people.
About the things what just happened,
no one speaks about it anymore.

But I'm still asking who we are.

We're what we are. we're standing here.
Divided, defeated and else.
We are still alive !

We're what we are. we're standing here.
It can't be over yet,no time for sadness.
We're what we are. we're standing here.
We're what we are.

We thought 'resurrection from the ruins'.
Dreams had to come true.
40 years of united power.
We made ashes into gold.

Now everything changed.
Things from the past are worthless today.
Now we can get everything,
but didn't we want more than that ?

And I'm asking where we are.

We're what we are. we're standing here.
Reunited in one country.
Rich and burned out.

We're what we are. we're standing here.
we're not going down,
no time to be angry.
We're what we are. we're standing here.
We're what we are.

We're what we are.
Divided, defeated and else.
Finally, we still exist !

We're what we are.
We will get over it.
Because life has to go on.

We're what we are.
This is just a bad phase.
We will never give up !

(Sorry for bad translation.)
BACKGROUND: This song is about the german history after world war 2. Currently Germany has some economic problems and the population is dissatisfied, so Paul van Dyk and Peter Heppner made this kinda motivating track. Dyk and Heppner also wanted to remember to the soccer worldcup in Bern, Switzerland in 1954. Germany won it, so it's called "The miracle of Bern".

Exactly what I got out of listening to the song myself...
Well so much for the long weekend, it's back to the saltmine in the morrow...
"Before God we are all equally wise - and equally foolish." Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955)

Sleeping in

Wow, if this keeps up I will be losing weight... another late breakfast!

Sounds of Silence

Today I got to hear one of the most amazing vesions of Simon and Garfunkel's Sounds of Silence, from South African band The Awakening, it comes from their album Sacrificial Etchings:

Somehow their version brings the lyrics to their true meaning, much more than in the original... keeping up with the theme reminds me of other songs with silence in the title, The Tremeloes - Silence is Golden, Delerium - Silence, Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence, Blank and Jones - Perfect Silence makes me think that music and silence are synonomous somehow...
Silence is Golden - Tremeloes
Oh, don't it hurt deep inside
To see someone do something' to her
Oh, don't it pain to see someone cry
Oh, es'pecialy when someone is her.

Silence is goldenbut my eyes still see.
Silence is golden golden.
But my eyes still see

Talkin' is' cheap
people follow like sheep.
Even tho' there is nowhere to go
How could she tell he decelved her so well
Pity she'll be the last one to know.

Silence is goldenbut my eyes still see.
Silence is golden golden.

But my eyes still see.

How many times did she fall for his line
Should I tell he or should I keep cool
and if I tried I know she'd say I lied
mind your busness dont hurt her you foll.

Silence is goldenbut my eyes' still see.
Silence is golden golden.
But my eyes still see.
But my eyes still see.
But my eyes still see.

Lazy Holliday

It is Heritage day sez the Man... only got up at 10 today to feed me breakfast!

Rainy days and Mondays

Well it is not quite Monday but the title will suffice... Being heritage day today it has given me quite some time to do more ripping. Though the weather has dampened my mood somewhat, I am gratefull that it is raining but not quite what I wanted to do on this public holiday... I was hoping to take my camera and snap some shots at the Fort for posting at some later date...
Rainy Days and Mondays - Carpenters, written by Paul Williams & Roger Nichols
Talkin' to myself and feelin' old
Sometimes I'd like to quit
Nothing ever seems to fit
Hangin' around
Nothing to do but frown
Rainy Days and Mondays always get me down.

What I've got they used to call the blues
Nothin' is really wrong
Feelin' like I don't belong
Walkin' around
Some kind of lonely clown
Rainy Days and Mondays always get me down.

Funny but it seems I always wind up here with you
Nice to know somebody loves me
Funny but it seems that it's the only thing to do
Run and find the one who loves me.

What I feel has come and gone before
No need to talk it out
We know what it's all about
Hangin' around
Nothing to do but frown
Rainy Days and Mondays always get me down.

Looking back on Karen Carpenter's life the lyrics describe her life, such a pity she was never able to resolve her personal issues and find happiness.
Today's quote is maybe not correct date wise but to my mind quite apt for the weather and the subject.

"Some rainy winter Sundays when there's a little boredom, you should always carry a gun. Not to shoot yourself, but to know exactly that you're always making a choice." Lina Wertmuller

Day off

The Man slept late today... and we had a lot of playtime when he did wake up... this is fun!

Gentle rain

Tonight it started raining, no thunder, no lightning... just this gentle rain, hope it keeps up all night, we need it. My pile of CD's is shrinking gradually but is making updating a Blog rather tedious... Ah, well, thats life... Belinda Carlisle sang a song about Summer Rain and the lyrics seem apt for the weather tonight... Placebo also did a song called English Summer Rain... not quite the same but also a great song.
Summer Rain - Belinda Carlisle
Whispering our goodbyes

Waiting for a train
I was dancing with my baby
In the summer rain
I can hear him saying
Nothing will change
Come dancing with me baby
In the summer rain

I remember the rain on our skin
And his kisses hotter than theSanta Ana winds
Whispering our goodbyes
Waiting for a train
I was dancing with my baby
In the summer rain

I remember laughing till we almost cried
(There at station that night)
I remember looking in his eyes
Oh my love, it’s you and that I dream of

Oh my love, since that day
Somewhere in my heart
I’m always
Dancing with you in the summer rain

Doesn’t matter what I do now
Doesn’t matter what I say
Somewhere in my heart
I’m always
Dancing with you in the summer rain

I can hear the whistle
Military train
I was dancing with my baby
In the summer rain
I can here him singing
Ooh Love Is Strange?
Come dance with me baby
In the summer rain

I remember the rain pouring down
And we poured our hearts out
As the train pulled out
I can see my baby
Waving from the train
It was last time that I saw him
In the summer rain

Every time I see the lightning
Every time I hear the thunder
Every time I close the window
When this happens in the summer
Oh the night is so inviting
I can feel that you are so close
I can feel you when the wind blows
Blows right through my heart

Every night and every day now
Though I know you’ve gone away
Somewhere in my heart I’m always
Dancing with you in the summer rain

Rain

Wow... the Man got home at seven today and brought this funny stuff along... ran outside and got it all over my fur... yuckkkk... he says it is rain and thought it was a huge joke when I scampered back inside... Men!

Numbered four...

A short poem I cobbled today after looking at some amazing stuff on Apod and Life, to me it is a wonderous thing that all living things are governed by just four nucleotides arranged in such a myriad of diffent life patterns, surely no one can doubt that God exists?
Numbered Four - Robert Le Noury
Twenty seven letters and eight notes
does poetry and music make.
All these words we say,
all the notes we play,
to give meaning to our longing,
to make clear the desire,
of love and life,
of trouble and strife
never mixed never cloned.
How wonderous then!
When considering,
He made us of nucleotides
numbered four!

Keeping up with the four theme here are the lyrics of the day:
Greenfields - Brothers Four - Music & Lyrics : Terry Gilkyson - Rich Dehr - Frank Miller
Once there were green fields, kissed by the sun.
Once there were valleys, where rivers used to run.
Once there were blue skies, with white clouds high above.
Once they were part of an everlasting love.
We were the lovers who strolled through green fields.

Green fields are gone now, parched by the sun.
Gone from the valleys, where rivers used to run.
Gone with the cold wind, that swept into my heart.
Gone with the lovers, who let their dreams depart.
Where are the green fields, that we used to roam ?

I'll never know what, made you run away.
How can I keep searching when dark clouds hide the day.
I only know there's, nothing here for me.
Nothing in this wide world, left for me to see.

Still I'll keep on waiting, until you return.
I'll keep on waiting, until the day you learn.
You can't be happy, while your heart's on the roam,
You can't be happy until you bring it home.
Home to the green fields, and me once again.
My restore task is progressing, tonight I should have CCR, and most of my '60/'70/'80's music back from my various CD compilations. Have you ever seen the rain is quite apt as we are having a shower as I type this up. By the way, the link goes to the website of Creedence Clearwater Revisited, a group playing CCR's music in the original style and seem to be wowing the audiences.
Something I agree with exept when you are out in the sun, then one is a neccessary evil...
"A hat should be taken off when you greet a lady and left off for the rest of your life. Nothing looks more stupid than a hat." P. J. O'Rourke 1947 -

Out of reach

Still waiting for my net connection to be re-established... in the meantime I have re-instated a few cd's to the
collection, I am getting there, should soon be back to my 4k odd mp3's
Winamp and I have been in a party mood since yesterday when my daughter was here. Even did some shadow dancing, had Myoo very puzzled with my wild gyrations... Westlife - What I want is what I got is playing as I type, not quite my sentiments but quite a beat... Busy compiling a playlist for Guy Fawkes as well... should be blast if we have good weather. Trying to think of what lyrics to put up tonight, as I am off line I am clueless as to what I have put up already... must backup the blog sometime as well. Sash! - La Primavera is playing now... it realy gives me itchy feet...
Still thinking of Hara Miharu a lot, can't seem to stop... The japanese name generator gave me that name, maybe I should use that to disguise persons names instead of using M or I or L... now the PC is playing a song that suits the theme 100%, Out of reach by Gabrielle, will use them lyrics methinks...

Today we have a simple recipe again, made it for me and Yoshikuni Ayumi, my daughter;
Pipes a la Tamate
Ingredients:
+- 500 - 800g mince
1 large onion
1 can onion/tomato mix
1 can tomato paste
Italian herbs
Spices you like
Last left over tomato sauce in a bottle or two.
Pasta - Pipes or any other type that goes well with a saucy bolognaise type mince.
Preperation:
Prepare pasta in a pasta pot of around 3L, using some oil and a teaspoon of salt... drain, put into a bowl and sprinkle with some olive oil when al dente.
Sauce preperation:
Chop onions and saute in a 2.5L saucepan using some olive oil, add mince and brown adding spices of your choice, I used Steak and Chop and some crushed Coriander seeds.
When meat is brown add the tomato paste, tomato/onion mix, using some water to get the last of the can's contents as well. You can also add the tomato sauce (ketchup) dregs using about a cup of water to swish the last bit out as well. Add some sugar to cut the tartness of the tomato if needed.Let the mixture simmer for 15 min. after adding the italian herbs. Serve over pasta with a tossed salad on the side.
Now on to the lyrics.
Out of reach - Gabrielle
Knew the signs
Wasn't right
I was stupid for a while
Swept away by you
And now I feel like a fool
So confused,
My heart's bruised
Was I ever loved by you?

Out of reach, so far
I never had your heart
Out of reach,
Couldn't see
We were never
Meant to be

Catch myself
From despair
I could drown
If I stay here
Keeping busy everyday
I know I will be OK

But I was
So confused,
My heart's bruised
Was I ever loved by you?

Out of reach, so far
I never had your heart
Out of reach,
Couldn't see
We were never
Meant to be

So much hurt,
So much pain
Takes a while
To regain
What is lost inside
And I hope that in time,
You'll be out of my mind
And I'll be over you

But now
I'm So confused,
My heart's bruised
Was I ever loved by you?

Out of reach,
So far
I never had your heart
Out of reach,
Couldn't see
We were never
Meant to be

Out of reach,
So far
You never gave your heart
In my reach,
I can see
There's a life out there
For me

I am having fun with all these paper balls!

Seven sisters

Nothing at all to do with any romance in my life! Just another beautiful image from Apod that I was looking at recently.
The Pleiades star cluster.
This makes me think of the words to the Our Lady Peace song Starseed...

I let go of the world that was holding
A passenger that could not fly
In search of souls
Souls in search of something
Let it go
Let it slide

When I find out what went on
I’ll bring it back
It won’t be easy
They won’t believe how a man
He could drown
In a starseed

I hoped to find why this world wasn’t glowing
Glowing it darkens as we end this ride
I’ve fallen back under the equator
I’m back inside
I’m back inside

When I find out what went on
I’ll bring it back but it won’t be easy
They won’t believe the man he could
But I’d choose starseed over nothing
Nothing

Fun Friday

Oohhhh I lurve you...

One day I am going to wave the flag, but first I need my beauty sleep.

Restoration

Just a short one... this restore job of my mp3's is taking up quite some time and I have to tire out one hyperactive kitten as well if I have any hope of getting any sleep, but it is great having someone greet you after work.
Sometimes I get funny looks when I mention some of the music I like, Placebo is one such group that evokes this reaction... hey! What can I do! I am a Latent Hard Rocker. I love music, period. Sometimes you have to take the lyrics with a pinch of salt although there is a very strong message here, I hope that it gets through to the listener...

Pure Morning - Placebo

A friend in needs a friend indeed,
A friend with weed is better,
A friend with breasts and all the rest,
A friend who's dressed in leather,

A friend in needs a friend indeed,
A friend who'll tease is better ,
Our thoughts compressed,
Which makes us blessed,
And makes for stormy weather,

A friend in needs a friend indeed,
My Japanese is better,
And when she's pressed she will undress,
And then she's boxing clever,

A friend in needs a friend indeed,
A friend who bleeds is better,
My friend confessed she passed the test,
And we will never sever,

Day's dawning, skins crawling [repeat three more times]
Pure morning, [repeat this three more times]

A friend in needs a friend indeed,
A friend who'll tease is better,
Our thoughts compressed,
Which makes us blessed,

And makes for stormy weather,
A friend in needs a friend indeed,
A friend who bleeds is better,
My friend confessed she passed the test,
And we will never sever,

Day's dawning, skins crawling [repeat three more times]
Pure morning,[repeat this three more times]

A friend in needs a friend indeed,
My Japanese is better,
And when she's pressed she will undress,
And then she's boxing clever,

A friend in needs a friend indeed,
A friend with weed is better,
A friend with breast and all the rest,
A friend who's dressed in leather

Coming back to restoration, I notice the work at our main building on campus has begun in earnest again, just a pity the steel fence that has gone up does not suit the architecture at all... As Dr Phill says "What were they thinking!" (pics to follow then judge for yourself-this blog will be updated!)

Action

What a week... flew past like a meteor...
I have been asked to help with tomorrows BKC races, hope to get a few pics and will pop them here. Got my dates wrong and Mac is only 20 today! Phew... typical dad, clueless when it comes to birthdays, I hope he has a good evening with his friends. Watched some Action Cricket tonight as well, great fun and a good way to keep fit, but as all things it needs quite a bit of dedication and the fixtures clash with motorsport a bit, otherwise I would have given it a bash.
Sand in my shoes by Dido is playing and it reminds me of the folks down in Sheppie, I sure hope we can get together this December. More music to follow in the same vein I hope. Seems like Winamp is in a dance mood...
Dreamer - Zhi-Vago
I just have a dream
A dream of love and passion
We walk through a land
A land of inspiration

The sun will always shine
And dream has come together
We has hand in hand
Forever and forever

Spread your wings of love
And fly with me to heaven
Dreams are coming true
Cause your dream is the key to reality

Sleep

You've got to be a dreamer

Time is on all sides
You and me forever
Feels like paradise
I want it now and ever

Spread your wings of love
And fly with me to heaven
Dreams are coming true
Cause your dream is the key to reality

You've got to be a dreamer
You've got to be a dreamer
You've got to be a dreamer
Sleep.
Dreaming can be action as well.

Play

What is hiding in this bag?

Yes I think it looks better upside down...

Is this for me?

You'll be in my heart

Today's thoughts are inspired by Phill Collins a great song writer and quite an interesting person, I am quite impressed with his Littledreams Foundation, great to see it when someone can plough back some of his time and talent like he does. Tonight I watched CSI, very sad episode where the one cop has his adopded daughter come back and mess things up, made me realise how lucky I am to have two wonderful kids that are a real blessing. The song is for them as well.
You'll be in my heart - Phill Collins
Come stop your crying, it will be all right
Just take my hand, hold it tight
I will protect you from all around you
I will be here don’t you cry

For one so small, you seem so strong
My arms will hold you keep you safe and warm
This bond between us can’t be broken
I will be here don’t you cry
And you’ll be in my heart

Yes, you’ll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
You’ll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You’ll be here in my heart
Always

Why can’t they understand the way we feel
They just don’t trust what they can’t explain
I know we’re different but deep inside us
We’re not that different at all

And you’ll be in my heart
Yes, you’ll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
You’ll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You’ll be here in my heart
Always

Don’t listen to them, cause what do they know
We need each other, to have and to hold
They’ll see in time, I know
When destiny calls you, you must be strong

I may not be with you, but you gotta hold on
They’ll see in time,
I know

We’ll show them together because...

You’ll be in my heart
I believe, you’ll be in my heart
I’ll be there from this day on
Now and forever more

You’ll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You’ll be here in my heart always

Always...
I’ll be with you
I’ll be there for you always
Always and always
Just look over your shoulder
Just look over your shoulder
Just look over your shoulder
I’ll be there always

Man and his wicked ways

I'm disgusted! Got left at home Tuesday... Mr only walked in at 3am... all jolly and then fell asleep on the sofa! Even my dancing a jig on his face did not help... hope he mends his wicked ways and spends more time with me.

WOW what happened to Tuesday?

Eish! Next time I know better... Zambuca and me are not great friends... somehow a casual visit to N&R's place turned into a party of sorts... and Thuesday went down the tubes... and it was not phunny...
Still feeling poorly and not feeling up to much creativity tonight. Just need a moment of peace and the lyrics are the same:
Moment of peace - Masters of Chant - Heusmann / Heusmann / Brighteman
Come now, come by our side,
A place where you can hide
We are the sunshine,
Rest your Soul here
And you'll find
We are the energy
We give the world to thee
Hold up your heart now
We will ease pain from your brow

Refrain
When the world is in tatters
And destruction is near,
You can come with us here
When anger is shattered,
You'll rest here with me
In a moment of peace

Refrain

Light up the dark below,
See through the stars,
Reach to the earth's flow
Drift in the joy of our hearts,
Unleash the energy,
Taste of the wine
Drink as a Soul
That knows now,
power divine.

Collywobbles

Milk is not for me... it has given me the collywobbles... My master hopes it clears up soon... or else I am banished! Like that is going to happen... Otherwise things are great, have a lot of toys to play with and Radio Oranje to listen to while master is at work as well as my water and Friskies.

Better late than never

I am cheating a bit, for some great recipes check out Cooking For Engineers! Beats my attempts hands down.
Feeling a bit lazy tonight and this is going to be a short one as I am recompiling some of the lost music...
Got my All my little words back and a few others as well... thanks Jewel. Peter Sarsted - Where do you go to my lovely, Mige Ure - If I was and quite a few others are now recovered... Going out with Blur and Tender:
Tender is the night
Lying by your side
Tender is the touch
Of someone that you love too much
Tender is the day
The demons go away
Lord I need to find
Someone who can heal my mind

Chorus
Come on, come on, come on
Get through it
Come on, come on, come on
Love’s the greatest thing
Come on, come on, come on
Get through it
Come on, come on, come on
Love’s the greatest thing
That we have
I’m waiting for that feeling
I’m waiting for that feeling
Waiting for that feeling to come

Oh my baby
Oh my baby
Oh whyOh my
X2

Tender is the ghost
The ghost I love the most
Hiding from the sun
Waiting for the night to come
Tender is my heart
For screwing up my life
Lord I need to find
Someone who can heal my mind

First evening

Hi, got taken home in a blue Mini! My new home is quite big, fresh sandbox and my own bowls of water milkies and friskies! Did some exploring and fell asleep on my new owners lap... Just hope he does not take pictures of all I do!

Spent most of the day with my son... we watched Tears of the Sun and The Vanished on DVD, both great movies. Went out for a burger lunch and had a great time together, he will be turning 21 this week. Time sure flies. Then went to collect Myoo... got to a darkened house and when I phoned got through to R in hospital, S took a dive on the whoops and bust his wrist... again! He sure has had a bad run of luck this year. Eventually got home with Myoo, she was so good in the car, a bit nervous but not hysterical like some kittens I have had. Seems to have settled down quite well so far... time will tell. Oh the title? Courtesy of Myoo of course!
Gentle music for cats tonight, Simon & Garfunkel, Gregorian, Vangelis so tonights lyrics reflect the theme of the time.

Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence

In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence

"Fools", said I, "You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed
In the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls"
And whispered in the sounds of silence
"Cats regard people as warmblooded furniture." Jacquelyn Mitchard, The Deep End of the Ocean.

Lazydays... sad days

Some days are made to laze around... today I was in that mood... did nothing! Slept late and lazed about reading... I also think it is because I am thinking of 911, such a sad day in history.
Music is also sad today, Marc Anthony That's OK, Enigma Age of Loneliness, Simon Walsh Eat The Ashes, Michelle Marie Boys Club, Evanescence Imaginary, Tony Braxton Unbreak my heart. Interspersed with some lighter stuff like, Kosmonova Alya, Safri Duo Everything, The Shadows Dance on. Lyrics to suit are from Toni Childs.
Walk like the angels talk
You walk like the angels talk
Where are you from
You want to walk and talk like angels talk
Tell me then some

With a room by the sea
And a voice in the sand
Telling me your truth
And telling me your view
In how you see the world
Spinning, spinning round
And what is love and what is death
The fears you have to put to rest
And so you walk
Like angels talk

You want to walk and talk like the angels talk
This I hear
You want to walk and talk like the angels
Tell me then dear

With a smile in the sun
And a face in the sand
Sitting on a swing
Unfolding bits of string
The face is innocence
But the words are something more
It’s in the voice
It’s in the sound
It’s in the way the world is round
And so we walk
Like angels talk

You want to walk and talk like the angels talk
This I hear
You want to walk and talk like the angels
Tell me then dear
You see it’s easy running angels down
And I can’t help but shutter from the sound

It’s that small girl
Down by the sea
Found the angel in me
The words are such
I’ll always recall
As they faded into day
As they faded into day
As they faded into day
As they faded into day.

Also set up Myoo's page... Wonder how many kittens have a blog?

Myoo's home on te web

See the M on that cute face? Myoo is my kitten, she will soon be posting her view of the Blue Spot when she moves in on Sunday... Her name comes from various sources, µ is the mathematical symbol for the Greek letter M or Mu, pronounced "myoo", here is more on the meanings of Mu or Myoo... born 19/07/2004

Mu - taken from a Japanese tea ceremony scroll this calligraphy figure is the Chinese character Mu. Mu is a Zen koan. Mu is the nothingness that is the universe. Mu is the lack of self that is shared by all things. Mu unasks questions. In the hinge of the heyiya-if there is Mu. µ M

1. (character) Mu - (Greek letter).
1. /micro/ prefix denoting division by 10^6, e.g. mu m (micrometre, a millionth part of a metre). Sometimes written as a 'u', the ASCII character nearest in appearance.
2. /myoo/ In the theory of functions, mu x . E denotes the least value of x for which E = x, i.e. the least fixed point of the function \ x . E. The recursive function mu f . H f satisfies (and is defined by) the equation
mu f . H f = H (mu f . H f)
An alternative notation for the same function is
fix H = H (fix H)
See fixed point combinator.
3. multiple value.

4. (networking) mu - The country code for Mauritius.
4. (philosophy) mu - /moo/ The correct answer to the classic trick question "Have you stopped beating your wife yet?". Assuming that you have no wife or you have never beaten your wife, the answer "yes" is wrong because it implies that you used to beat your wife and then stopped, but "no" is worse because it suggests that you have one and are still beating her. According to various Discordians and Douglas Hofstadter the correct answer is usually "mu", a Japanese word alleged to mean "Your question cannot be answered because it depends on incorrect assumptions".
Hackers tend to be sensitive to logical inadequacies in language, and many have adopted this suggestion with enthusiasm. The word "mu" is actually from Chinese, meaning "nothing"; it is used in mainstream Japanese in that sense, but native speakers do not recognise the Discordian question-denying use. It almost certainly derives from over generalisation of the answer in the following well-known Rinzei Zen teaching riddle:
A monk asked Joshu, "Does a dog have the Buddha nature?" Joshu retorted, "Mu!"

Lights on the water

Latest pics of Chucky, her kittens all seem to have found homes as well... Myoo is the one with an orange dot on her forehead above the tabby M marks.

Dining @ Primi Piati with friends

The Bloemfontein Waterfront @ night.

Had a great evening out at the waterfront tonight, pizza was perfect as was the company, I have always wanted to eat at Primi Piati but always seemed to end up at some other place. The atmosphere is also something diffrent from the norm, waiters dressed in overalls and the decor is like a factory... the best is that they make a thin base Pizza, as it should be made! Pretty cool website too...
Some diffrent lyrics tonight, with the lights across the water in mind and someone I miss... I was lucky to have come across this song recently.
The ghost of an unkissed kiss - TREMBLING BLUE STARS
The ghost of an unkissed kiss
A field of snow without footprints
It'll always be perfect, but we didn't get to live it

The lights that shone for us across the water

Through the misty dusk
It'll always be perfect, but we didn't get to live it

These lonely places were touched by love
Dust for the traces and they'll show up.
These are the words we'll pack away
These are the feelings that will stay.

Dry eyes, dry eyes
It was never going to end in dry eyes
We'll never know what we let go.

How do you push aside
Something that just feels so right
It'll always be perfect
But I didn't get to live it
We found what so many seek
But it was never ours to keep
It'll always be perfect, but we didn't get to live it

I know how unfair I've been on her,
that I could have made it easier
but I wanted her so bad, you see,
I just wouldn't stop at anything.

Wrong as it was to do,
those eyes were made to look into
it'll always be perfect, but we didn't get to live it.
So I would just do wrong until the ache became too strong
It'll always be perfect, but we didn't get to live it.
