This has been a terrible week for us... Ouma, we will miss you.
There are really no words to describe the loss nor are there ways to say how sorry I am that you are no longer with us on earth.
All I know is that in times like this we can only turn to the One that holds us in the palm of His hand and be glad that she is now with You in Heaven where we will all meet again one day.

Tuesday Twit

Microsoft, for the copy protection implemented in Vista... this is going to be a deal breaker in my humble opinion.
Many people have legitimate copies of media in their possession and now the Lords of Redmond want to dictate what I may or may not see on MY PC with their software?

Two weeks of survival course has this effect...

Would you survive in the wild?
Your Result: Yesiree!....

You could live in the wild if you wanted to! You know what to eat, do, and stay away from! You could get shelter, food, water fast and easy-and the right treatments to injuries, snake bites etc...You know the outdoors like the back of your hand!!

Most likely you'll survive....
Not to sure...
Wouldn't last 2 minutes!.....
Would you survive in the wild?

No show

Today's thunderstorm put paid to any possible comet shots but I did get a rainbow and...

a great shot of the conjunction of the Crecent Moon and Venus dipping behind clouds.

FDA - Dr. Heidi Cullen, Climate Expert...

my ass! She wants all critics of the so called Global Warming to be called heretics or "Climate Change Deniers". Raving moonbat! I see she is a so called expert on drought.
I have my own theory why the Middle East is desert... it involves goats... many, many millions of the nefarious creatures because only goats climb trees to denude them of all vestiges of anything green. I am not talking about the Argan tree either, I have seen with my own eyes what goats can do to a patch of land, they have this uncanny ability to turn it into desert within months.

At long last I had the time and the sky was clear, all was set for the big Comet Catching Caper... alas Murphy had other ideas... I had forgotten to charge my camera batteries from my last expedition... so all I got was the start of tonight's show!
Which by the way is just awesome! Batteries are being charged as we speak for tomorrow night...
My mini tripod worked a treat and I was able to get some pretty cool sunset pics, so all was not in vain...

Kids must see this as well, I saw Halley's comet in '86 but McNaught is way better... truly the Great Comet of 2007!
"With a tale, for sooth, he comet unto you; with a tale which holdeth children from play, and old men from the chimney corner." Philip Sidney

McNaught Caught!

Faintly starting to glow right at the top, in the centre, at last! Comet McNaught caught 19/01/2007... then the camera battery's died! I will be back again tomorrow if the horizon is clear.

Shame on you Vodacom!

This is SPAM in my book... oh and by the way the frikkenMeercat sucks... and I am not alone.
"Though conventional wisdom has it that spamming is illegal, Leon Perlman, chairperson of the Wireless Applications Service Provider Association (Waspa), says current legislation is weak concerning the issue. "The legislation doesn't define spam clearly. It only refers to unsolicited commercial communications," Perlman says.
According to section 45 of the ECT Act, anyone who sends unsolicited commercial communications to consumers must provide the consumer with the option to cancel his/her subscription to the mailing list.
(pretty plain and clear meaning to me.) The sender must also disclose the source from which they obtained the consumer's personal information if requested by the consumer."

What is not clear? Unsolicited is unsolicited i.e. SPAM you dunces! And then to have the temerity to charge the customer to unsubscribe from something they did not ask for is CRIMINAL!
If MTN does that too me they will be in court the next day. So far they have not gone down the slippery slope that Vodacom has.

I am de donner in...

with Yengeni getting off so lightly and Hershelle Gibbs being banned for 2 tests for speaking his mind, which to me was the truth after portions of the crowd (read Paki mooselimbs) swore and taunted the Proteas. I agree with Gibbs... they acted like animals!
By the way, being De Donner In is 200 Richter points on the scale more than just De Moer In, it is just simmering under Murderous Rage.
Now where did I put my Titanium Baseball Bat!?

I know an Angel when I see one...

Go and see what an Angel does even when they do not really have the time or the money, this guy has basically been retrenched but still has the heart to help others...
I do hope Og gets his reward on earth... as far as I can tell his Hoard in Heaven is huge! That reminds me of this song...

Sarah McLachlan - Angel Lyrics

Spend all your time waiting for that second chance
For the break that will make it OK
There's always some reason to feel not good enough
And it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction or a beautiful release
Memories seep from my veins
Let me be empty and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight

In the arms of the Angel far away from here
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie
You're in the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here

So tired of the straight line, and everywhere you turn
There's vultures and thieves at your back
The storm keeps on twisting, you keep on building the lies
That you make up for all that you lack
It don't make no difference, escaping one last time
It's easier to believe
In this sweet madness, oh this glorious sadness
That brings me to my knees

In the arms of the Angel far away from here
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie
In the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here

You're in the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here

"We are, each of us angels with only one wing; and we can only fly by embracing one another." Luciano de Crescenzo

I love the "Subversive" bit... Reminds me of this quote...

"Men fear thought as they fear nothing else on earth -- more than ruin -- more even than death.... Thought is subversive and revolutionary, destructive and terrible, thought is merciless to privilege, established institutions, and comfortable habit. Thought looks into the pit of hell and is not afraid. Thought is great and swift and free, the light of the world, and the chief glory of man." Bertrand Russell (1872 - 1970)

The new Tsunami...

This is something that flies under the radar but when one reads it all you can say is Amazing! He is true to His word. Let us all remember that these converts do not have it as easy as us in the "free" world. They need our continued support in our prayer warfare.
"And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved." (Joel 2:28-32)

Now I know why the place never appealed to me... bleddy snobs!
Don't get me wrong, Steve's Blou Bull grates when I hear it but that is because I am a Vrystater! But to have a policy not to play Afrikaans music is blatant discrimination.

Yeah Baby! Chop chop!

This is all they understand... fire with fire, lop with lop... Sorry for another C&F cartoon but it says it so wel!
"Somalia's prime minister said Tuesday he does not expect any more major fighting against rival Islamic fighters, and his Ethiopian military backer described the operation as within weeks of being completed."
Meanwhile Eurabia and the UN are scurrying around to assemble a "Peacekeeping Force" while the STG and Ethiopia is getting the job of restoring law and order done in splendid fashion! I say leave em be world and watch how it should be done!
