Wannna speeen?

This must be good for tyre sales... At least they are not doing it on the street like illegal drag racing, although I think the atmosphere may get a tad unbreatheable what with all that burning rubber. I must say this type of tyre burning is a lot more friendly than in the '80's and heaps of fun for all concerned...
Come to think of it so is drifting...
There is this great montage of some Japanese guys doing their thing set to some ATB and Paul van Dyk tracks... pretty awesome, I always play it at our MX meets, when we have a big screen it would look awesome.

Haloscan and Commenting policy

I am one that rather than re-invent the wheel, will use an existing tool if it suits me, I want to thank Jeremy Zawodny for his rules... here verbatim and in 100% agreement... I have also implemented Weblog Commenting and Trackback by HaloScan.com on this blog, thanks Dudes.
"For quite a while now, I've been removing occasional comments from my weblog. Not just spammers. If someone violates my weblog comment policy, I nuke their comment(s). It's that simple.
Until now, I hadn't published my policy. Instead, I forgot about Rule #1 (People Are Stupid) and figured that common sense would rule the day. (So I thought as well - RobC)

So, here are the rules--things you should not do when posting a comment on my weblog. And since it is MY WEBLOG and not yours, you don't have a lot of say in the matter, do you?"

DO NOT:
post off-topic. If you're not sure what the topic is, you probably shouldn't be commenting.
engage in personal attacks.
provide a fake e-mail address. If you don't want to leave an address, leave it blank.
provide a URL to a non-weblog. If you don't have a weblog or don't want to link to it, leave it blank too.
spam. Yes, this is redundant with #1 most of the time, but I figured I ought to be explicit.
I'll update this post from time to time as rules change.

Violation of this policy may mean any of the following:
I will remove your comments.
I will block your attempts to comment in the future.
I will contact your Internet Service Provider.
I will randomly screw with your mind.

To the 99% of you that never needed to read this in the first place, thanks for putting up with this post. Also thanks to Jeremy Zawodny once again for sparing me to type out my thoughs on the matter.

This is what will happen if the US pulls out of Iraq... or if another Democrat gets voted into the hot seat.

Iran's president says move Israel

Iran's president says move Israel " 'This is not the first time, unfortunately, that the Iranian president has expressed the most outrageous ideas concerning Jews and Israel,' Israeli foreign ministry spokesman Mark Regev said."

And some people still support this raving lunatic? I just feel sympathy for the average Iranian that just wants to get along with their life without this islamofacist and his ilk poisoning the enviroment.

Day by day

As you can see, I am now running "Day by Day"... Enjoy...
Thanks Chris!

Does this matter to Global Warming freaks?

"Many scientists previously thought the reduction in sunlight lowered the Earth's temperature and slowed plant and soil respiration, a process where plants and soil emit CO2. But this new research shows that when faced with diffuse sunlight, plants actually become more efficient, drawing more carbon dioxide out of the air."

Now I was thinking... what if some huge dormant volcano decided it is morning and wakey wakey time, spews the equivalent of 10 Pinatubo's into the atmosphere in a period of a few weeks... what would we do?
Adapt or die I would say, this is exactly what nature does every day this Blue Dot revolves around dear Sol, some organisms die and others adapt. We humans are but a drop in the ocean when compared to what nature itself can inflict on life on this planet... something to bear in mind when the next media Global Warming panic attack starts.

SA church on horns of ox dilemma... this weeks Dumbass award.

But Rev Sogiba insisted that the slaughter was nothing to do with invoking the ancestors.

"This is not a traditional ceremony, this is a celebration because we are inaugurating our new diocese," he said. "The idea is to have more meat for refreshments."

Heard of butchers yet Rev.? There is no need to do it on church premises and I think there are by-laws prohibiting this... Dumbass.

Awesome dude's salmon bake

Wow a comment! Thanks chefmom, you have great blog by the way... Now for another one from my blog...
Le saumon avec la sauce de tomate et vegtables - Salmon with tomato sauce and veggies.
2 to 3 servings, can be squeezed or stretched to suit fish or company.
Ingrédients - Components... errr ingredients
1 fillet of salmon (canadian cos it is cheaper) big enough for your baking dish
2 cans tomato paste
1 leftover bit of tomato sauce in All Gold bottle
1 leftover bit of mayo in bottle
1 nice sized onion
1 serving spoon of peppadews
1 500/750g bag vegetables of your choice from P&P or Woolies, I used one that had carrots/sweet potato and butternut, will be trying other variations to the theme. Some olive oil, black pepper to taste, veggie seasoning and paprika. Set oven on 300 - full blast to warm it while you prep da fish and do the sauce... Get your fav saucepan as well and a baking dish big enough to hold the fish and veggies Dice & slice the onion and peppadew, seperately or together. Put the veggies in the microwave and nuke em for 5 minutes at least, rember to make a hole in the bag, it will explode if not!
La Sauce - the Sauce
A dash of olive oil in the saucepan, saute onions and add peppadew or do em in tandem, add the leftovers in the 2 bottles by swishing around the leftover with 250 ml. warm water, toss into onions that should be ready by then, add tomato paste and some Italian herbs, simmer slowly while you prep the fish... You should have around 750 ml when done, add water if needed.
Le poisson - the Fish
Wipe the fish with about a desertspoon of olive oil, sprinkle with black pepper to taste and colour the fish with some paprika, place in baking dish and put in oven... Don't forget! Turn once when the fish starts browning, this should not take longer than 6 minutes a side.
La combinaison - the Combining of it all
Now whip out the veggies and the fish, open the bag and arrange veggies around the fish in dish (rhymes), pour the sauce over the fish and veggies, return to the oven for another 10 to 15 minutes, put grill on for the first 5 then swich off the oven... the fish and veggies will do the final cooking in the residual heat of the oven.
Prepare your table in the meantime... Goes well with a fine tossed salad and good company or it will serve two days worth of leftover for a single dude like me, there, ain't I awesome.

Which mythical creature resides in your soul?

dragon
DRAGON
You are the dragon. A dragon,
in western lore, is a giant lizard with wings.
It usually has the capability to breathe fire.
The dragon symbolizes immense power, physical
strength, and courage. The dragon has also been
a symbol of wisdom and of protection. Dragons
may also appear to be greedy as many a tale

Worth?

So when you convert to Rands that means R3838.87, give or take a few Rand... Why do we value everything in monetary terms? I think one should be valued in Hugs & Kisses... I was at my therapist today and realise we put far to much value on what we earn and how much we are worth to our employers than our loved ones...
More at some another time...
Found some lyrics that fit perfectly with the theme of worth as well, thanks Kylie, my best wishes in your fight with the big C...

For All I'm Worth - Kylie Minouge

Who's telling me?
Who's wrong or right?
When I don't come home at night.

No mother
No Lover

I'm finished with cold claims on me
I'm not what you want me to be
No way, hear what I say

Don't keep me apart
ooohhh from the one I love
Don't keep me apart
Don't keep me apart
From the one I love

Just let me be
Just let me be
Just let me be
Just let me be

For all I'm worth

For all I'm worth

Who's telling us about the babies
Don't you think it's up to the ladies?

Don't confuse us
Or abuse us

I don't allow some power freak
to make me feel small and weak
No way, hear what i say

Don't keep me apart
ooohhh from the one I love
Don't keep me apart
Don't keep me apart
From the one I love

Just let me be
Just let me be
Just let me be
Just let me be

For all I'm worth

For all I'm worth

Don't keep me apart
ooohhh from the one I love
Don't keep me apart
Don't keep me apart
From the one I love

Just let me be
Just let me be
Just let me be
Just let me be

For all I'm worth

For all I'm worth

Just let me be

For all I'm worth.

I would like to end off with this one thing... Cherish the one your'e with, make the time together special...

Gung Ho

William Wallace
You scored 79 Wisdom, 69 Tactics, 65 Guts, and 54 Ruthlessness!

Like William Wallace, chances are you have no problem charging a larger, better trained, better equipped, better armed and armored English army with a band of naked drunken Scotsmen. I'm not contesting that you have balls. It's your brain function I'm worried about.

Scottish soldier and national hero. The first historical record of Wallace's activities concerns the burning of Lanark by Wallace and 30 men in May, 1297, and the slaying of the English sheriff, one of those whom Edward I of England had installed in his attempt to make good his claim to overlordship of Scotland. After the burning of Lanark many joined Wallace's forces, and under his leadership a disciplined army was evolved. Wallace marched on Scone and met an English force of more than 50,000 before Stirling Castle in Sept., 1297. The English, trying to cross a narrow bridge over the Forth River, were killed as they crossed, and their army was routed. Wallace crossed the border and laid waste several counties in the North of England. In December he returned to Scotland and for a short time acted as guardian of the realm for the imprisoned king, John de Baliol . In July, 1298, Edward defeated Wallace and his army at Falkirk, and forced him to retreat northward. His prestige lost, Wallace went to France in 1299 to seek the aid of King Philip IV, and he possibly went on to Rome. He is heard of again fighting in Scotland in 1304, but there was a price on his head, and in 1305 he was captured by Sir John de Menteith. He was taken to London in Aug., 1305, declared guilty of treason, and executed. The best-known source for the life of Wallace is a long romantic poem attributed to Blind Harry, written in the 15th century.

Every drop counts... a gift of life.

One of my favourite places to visit every 60 odd days for a pint and cookies... You guessed it... I am a donor! Next visit will make 50 odd, although I do not think I will ever reach the grand total of some donors but at least the last 2 years I have averaged 5 donations per year, next year I am going to try and squeeze in 6, it all depends on when I donate my first for the year... My challenge to the blogosphere (those that cannot due to medical reasons or are under age are exempt.) is Donate Blood! As a former recipient I know how important this simple act of giving is.

The Gift - C Heusmann - performed by Gregorian Masters of Chant.
Forgive is a word I am learning
If only to pass the time
I love you for all your weakness
I love you for all your lies
Will you grow
Will you understand
The damage you caused in time
The past is behind we are facing
A punishment for the crime

The gift you gave me
Our sweet encounter
Became so fragile and flew with the night
I will be witness
I will not falter
Till we are risen again to the light

Would you forgive me
My heart was broken
But I will mend I will be as before
Just give me one chance
To make it better
Uhh let me be yours

Without you I'm weak and I'm listless
Without you I find I'm blind
I watch you alone, are you dreaming
Of happines left behind
Do you drift in your heart at night
Walk through the rooms of your mind
Open the door I'll be waiting
Remember this is your life

Chorus

At least donating blood is less painless than the ending quote...
**Writing is easy. All you do is stare at a blank sheet of paper until drops of blood form on your forehead.**

Valiant

This looks like a great animated movie! I Love the Sarge!

There used to a UK comic called Valiant, way back in the 1970's, my favourite was Captain Hurricane, a real action hero if ever. Looking back I realise he was a sort of role model both in my military career and my life. Honour with righteous rage and leading by example. Funny how something like this can inlfuence one's life without one really realising that. I must say I am looking back a lot these days an doing some self analasys, must be the effect of seeing a therapist!
So as I bravely face the future I go out with these words from the Corrs.
Baby be Brave - The Corrs
Maybe deep down inside, you don’t believe it
Your wailing wall, it isn’t weeping at all
And you’re not worthy of adoration
You’re scared that somebody somewhere’s gonna find the burst pipe
And as fast as they bow down they’ll leave you behind
But baby be brave cause what’s the point of it all
What’s the point of it all yeah
Baby don’t blow it, tell me what’s it all for
If you’re not terrified to fail
Are you terrified to fail?

Way far down below you don’t feel it
Yeah everyone knows but we don’t believe it
The pain of a pop star you’re breaking my heart

But baby be brave ‘cause what’s the point of it all
What’s the point of it all yeah?
Baby don’t blow it, tell me what’s it all for
If you’re not terrified to fail

(Confide in me, tell your story)
Are you terrified to fail?
(It’s your fear that makes you worthy)

I know what you’re doing ‘cause
God I’ve been tempted, you are
Drowning the special to
Immortalize the rise
And what’s the point of it all

Baby be brave ‘cause what’s the point of it all
What’s the point of it all yeah?
Baby don’t blow it, tell me what’s it all for
If you’re not terrified to fail

(Confide in me, tell your story)
Are you terrified to fail?
(It’s your fear that makes you worthy)
I am terrified to fail
(Confide in me, tell your story)
Are you terrified to fail?
(It’s your fear that makes you worthy)
I may have done these lyrics before, seems like the search ain't working so well, in any case they go with the sentiment of the day...
"Cowards die many times before their deaths;
The valiant never taste of death but once.
Of all the wonders that I yet have heard,
It seems to me most strange that men should fear;
Seeing that death, a necessary end,
Will come when it will come."
William Shakespeare (1564 - 1616), "Julius Caesar", Act 2 scene 2

Modern potato had roots in Peru

So that means "Pom de Frites/French Fries" should be called Peruvian Fries?
I know that Peru has done extensive research on the spud and has noted where most of the variaties of "wild" spuds are found so as to keep a genetic reserve for the future.

Dangerous and moving, getting all Wiki-d.

Forget their image, listen to the music... t.A.T.u. have done it again with their latest CD - Dangerous and moving, due out tomorrow... I have had a sneak listen to some of the track clips and I like it a lot... One for the xmas wishlist... The single with the same title has been availabe since 1 September by the way. Checking out the Wiki about them I am quite surprised on the one hand but otherwise not surprised to see who has lent a hand in the production of this album. Sting and Richard Carpenter feature in the credits! As I said... forget the stage and video image... listen to the music... Some people wrote them off as a gimmick but I believe they have the voices to deliver serious music. Even if they do fade as t.A.T.u. I am certain they would make a sucess as individuals.
You may have noticed I have linked a lot of the names etc. to the respective Wiki pages, Wiki is getting so good these days that almost any subject has a page, most Wiki pages have lots of links as well so why re-invent the wheel when I can just send you the viewer there? (Call me lazy if you like.) So henceforth I will be Wiki-d from time to time in my blogs...

One word fade to grey

Seems like we have a case of plagiarism on the music scale going on here. Yesterday I saw Kelly Osbourne singing One Word on TV... the song struck a chord. Kelly's performance of this song is brilliant and I love it, but play it with Fade to Grey by Visage (No official site, Mige Ure here.) and suddenly your ears ignore the lyrics and synch in to the music! I am no musician but I bet the chords are the same or so similar to be a clone.
Dont get me wrong, as I said, I love the song! But clearly somone has been tinkering with Visage's toys here. It is one thing to write new lyrics to an existing piece of music, it gets done all over the world were a German song gets re written into Afrikaans or English, usually the remake artist/lyricist acknowleges the fact, but in this case it was not done. I know the lyrics are totaly diffent but that is not the point... the music and style is just way too similar. Looks like the real quilty party is Linda Perry who did the graftwork on this song... Shame on her...
As I was writing this I was googling and found another site that seems to agree, looks like this is a story that did not go unnoticed. HT to
Arjan Writes (I will be putting him on my Favs.)
Oh yes... M turned 21 today... had his party last night and was slightly subdued today at the teaparty I had in his honour... he did perk up later though... all that water started rehydrating his shocked system... (been there done that)
Jokes aside, I thank God that He gave us such a wonderful son...
So to stirr the pot here are the lyrics to the songs in the dock...

Fade To Grey -
Visage

Deperir a gris - deperir a gris.
One man on a lonely platform
One case sitting by his side.
Two eyes staring cold and silent
Show fear as he turns to hide.
Ah
we fade to grey - fade to grey
Ah
we fade to grey - fade to grey
Un homme dans une gare desolee
Une valise a ses cotes.
Deux yeux fixes et froids -
Montre de la peur lorsqu'il
Se tourne pour se cacher.
Ah
we fade to grey - fade to grey
Ah
we fade to grey - fade to grey
Sent la pluie comme un ete anglais.
Comme les notes d'une chanson lointaine
Sortant de derriere d'un poster esperant
Que la vie ne fut si longue.
Ah
we fade to grey - fade to grey
Ah
we fade to grey - fade to grey
Feel the rain
like an English summer
Feel the notes from a distant song.
Stepping out from a back shop poster
Wishing life wouldn't be so dull.
Deperir a gris
Ah
we fade to grey - fade to grey
Ah
we fade to grey - fade to grey
Ah
we fade to grey - fade to grey
Deperir a gris
Ah
we fade to grey - fade to grey

Silence tells me all I need to know
One Word
One Word tells me everything I need to know

One word driven in to madness

What type of killer are you

No wonder I like Japanese swords...
Samurai
You are a Samurai.
You are full of honour and value respect. You
are not really the stereotypical hero, but you
do fight for good. Just in your own way. For
you, it is most certainly okay to kill an evil
person, if it is for justice and peace. You
also don't belive in mourning all the time and
think that once you've hit a bad stage in life
you just have to get up again. It's pointless
to concentrate on emotional pain and better to
just get on with everything. You also are a
down to earth type of person and think before
you act. Impulsive people may annoy you
somewhat.

Main weapon: Sword
Quote: "Always do the right thing.
This will gratify some people and astonish the
rest" -Mark Twain
Facial expression: Small smile

I watched U571 this evening and somehow it tied in with this quiz and the result, I also know the movie was a figment of imagination based on a whole lot of true stories so with that backround I still enjoyed it a lot. For those who want to find out some of the truth here are 3 good points of reffrence;
http://www.u571.com/globalnav/gnf.pl?url=http%3A//www.u-571.com/ the official film site;
http://www.nzgirl.co.nz/articles/827 a scathing attack on the script with some history;
http://www.jamesfollett.dswilliams.co.uk/u571%20lies%20damm%20lies.htm more cross words from James Follett;
As I am Samurai I connected with the film, sometimes in war one has to do things and ask things that would not be normal in other circumstances. Today we have no further clever things to say...
"The fathers of the field had been pretty confusing: John von Neumann speculated about computers and the human brain in analogies sufficiently wild to be worthy of a medieval thinker, and Alan Turing thought about criteria to settle the question of whether machines can think, a question of which we now know that it is about as relevant as the question of whether submarines can swim." Eject! Eject! Eject!: TRIBES

Eject! Eject! Eject!: TRIBES What can I add? not much... go and read and decide what tribe you belong to.
I suppose one could also say the Grey are كافر

Going going gone

I sold the "Old Tiger" today, may the new owner have as much fun as I had. Sad to see it go though but I just did not have the time or cash to fix it up properly, it was worse seeing it gather dust in the carport. Nothing wrong with the motor though, fired up after a few cranks and off they went. That after about 9 months of standing! Mini's do not die they just keep on motoring... This weekend I was compiling some of the car/racing/road related music and came up with this compilation, not comprehensive by a long chalk!
43 tracks in playlist,

Ok sue me... three of the same, I love all three versions of I Drove All Night! so what the heck I put them all into the compilation, one that is missing is Motorbikin by Chris Spedding, the song evokes all that is fun of speeding down a highway. One day... soon I hope... I will be motorbikin... Now why the Miami Vice Theme? not quite highway I know but that boat speeding down the canal in the intro while the music played always evoked the same feelings as Radar Love by Golden Earing... man! Way cool dude... Then we have the Roxette songs... Joyride - Sleeping in my - Car It Takes no Time to Get Here. Of course I could go on about them all... Enjoyed listening to them as I typed up the blog.
The lyrics come from Kareema and
Cool Your Engines
:
Cool your engines standby
cause you've got just one chance in your life
at the end of the night
as you're waiting on the starting line
cool your engines standby
cause you've got just one chance tonight
to do what is right
as we are waiting on the starting line
and if you think that you might
give up this time with no try
and be waiting tonight
it's the longest part of your life
i wanna tell you "Allright"
the patience is so hard to try
cool your engines standy
as we are waiting on the starting line
cool your engines standby
Now before I get sentimental let me finish off with this gem.

Giant eye spots 'first light'

Way to go! This is amazing news. The people down in Sutherland have done a fine job, it may be a one horse town with the coldest nights in the country but then that is just what one needs for a starry view. Go and check out what is being done at SALT. This gives an idea of the surrounds of the observatory.

Barred Spiral Milky Way

From APOD: 2005 August 25, The Milky Way, if this is what our home Galaxy looks like, we live in an amazingly beautiful Galaxy. This site has some more info and our solar systems approximate location. One can but only speculate as to the extreme conditions at Galactic Centre where a super massive Black Hole probably resides.
This makes me come to the conclusion that spiral systems are a feature of our universe, from atomic level to galactic level and maybe even beyond. Everything spins around something that in turn spins around some more massive thing. Amazing...

Runaway

This sums up life at the moment, it will return to normal... hopefully. While I contemplate these songs help me meditate and cogitate on the events of the past weeks...

    22. Sugababes - Run For Cover (3:47)
    23. Linkin Park - Runaway (3:07)
Iio is a duo that I have come to love lately, mostly because of very good vocals by Nadia Ali, who by the way is also of Lebanese decent, something in common with Shakira who's new album Fijacion Oral, Vol. 1 is on my wishlist. Shakira is in my opinion a very underrated artist. As you can see the list is not just dance but has some oldies and heavy rock as well... quite an eclectic listen... Another favourite on the list is Belinda Carlisle and Runaway Horses, pity I missed the show! The budget just did not justify me going on my own...
Today's lyrics come from the second track in the list... a momentary summary of my thoughts...

Diana Fox - Running On Empty
I look back on my life what do I find,
I feel I'm running on empty,
Even in the corner of my mind,
I feel I'm running on empty,
Even if I spread my wings and fly,
I feel I'm running on empty,
Baby if you run with me tonight,
I feel the torture ending

Running o-u-o-u-ooon, running on empty, running on empty,
Running o-u-o-u-ooon, running on empty, running on empty,
Running on empty, running on empty

Running on empty, running on empty, ...

I look back on my life what do I find,
I feel I'm running on empty,
Even in the corner of my mind,
I feel I'm running on empty,
Even if I spread my wings and fly,
I feel I'm running on empty,
Baby if you run with me tonight,
I feel the torture ending

Running o-u-o-u-ooon, running on empty, running on empty,
Running o-u-o-u-ooon, running on empty, running on empty

Running o-u-o-u-ooon, running on empty,
Running o-u-o-u-ooon, running on empty
Running on empty, running on empty, running on empty

And now to end the day's ruminations with this light though... As I say... one has to smile at least once a day!

Blank stare

Ok, ok... before I get hatemail... the missing pictures will be fixed... I have decided to take down my /blogimage folder on my real website... the images were making me overstay my welcome... 5Mb worth they were. They will be updated using the "Add Image" tool... way to go Blogger-dot-Com, once again, thanks for making it so easy now.

More to be added...

Just be

Sometimes one just has to relax and just be...
So ponder these lyrics for the reason behind my statement...
DJ Tiesto - Just Be
You can travel the world

But you can't run away
From the person you are in your heart
You can be who you want to be
Make us believe in you
Keep all your light in the dark
You're searching for truth
You must look in the mirror
And make sense of what you can see
Just be
Just be

They say learning to love yourself
Is the first step
But you take what you want to be real
Flying on planes to exotic locations
Won't teach you
How you how to feel
Beside the fact
That you are who you are
And nothing can change that belief
Just be
Just be

Cause now I know
Is not so far
To were I go
The hardest part
is inside me

I need
To just be

Just be x4

I was lost

And I'm still lost
But I feel so
much better

That is all for today... just be...
**Eternity is a mere moment, just long enough for a joke.** Hermann Hesse (1877 - 1962)

Half life, terror decays in the harsh glare of the rocket's flame.

And they tried again... this time like a damp squib... It seems like the Terrorists of this world are feeling the pinch, hastily concocting scemes and explosive mixtures as the net closes from all sides all over the world.
Several reports seem to indicate that the feeling of most world citizens is slowly becoming irritated to say the least with terrorist organizations world wide... However now is the time for all good men and goverments to keep up the pressure on the evildoers and their supporters. Especially the ones that want to foster the spread of Islamofacism...
Once again we can only applaud the efforts of the average Londoner, stiff upper lip wot... put on the kettle for some tea luv...

Some will notice that they are not all technically Trance but seem to fit together rather smoothly, Tina Cousins's Wonderful life orchestral mix was added to give a countepoint finale to the list. I hope to get my grubby paws on the real tracks of her versions of the Black song soon, glad to see she has some downloads of her excellent works... The lyrics are from the last song on the list. By the way Colin Vearnacombe the artist formerly known as Black has a few samples on his site as well...
Wonderful life - Black - Colin Vearncombe
Here I go out to sea again
The sunshine fills my hair
And dreams hang in the air
Gulls in the sky and in my blue eyes
You know it feels unfair
Ther's magic everywhere
Look at me standing
Here on my own again
Up straight in the sunshine

No need to run and hide
It's a wonderful, wonderful life
No need to laugh or cry
It's a wonderful, wonderful life

The sun's in your eyes
The heat is n your hair
They seem to hate you
Because you're there
And I need a friend, oh I need a friend
To make me happy
Not stand there on my own
Look at me standing here on my own again
Up straight in the sunshine
No need to run and hide
It's a wonderful, wonderful life
No need to laugh or cry
It's a wonderful, wonderful life

I need a friend, oh I need a friend
To make me happy, not so alone
Look at me here, here on my own again
Up straight in the sunshine

No need to run and hide
It's a wonderful, wonderful life
No need to laugh or cry
It's a wonderful, wonderful life

I had great fun compiling todays list but now I have to get some shuteye... The quote was rather difficult...
so I settled for this...
"Let your life lightly dance on the edges of Time like dew on the tip of a leaf." Rabindranath Tagore

Scotty has beamed up

BBC NEWS Entertainment: TV and Radio Star Trek's Scotty dies aged 85
So sad to hear this, as a Trekkie I always enjoyed that line "Beam me up Scotty". He sort of reminded me of my Grandad om Mom's side, he was also an engineer and of Scotish decent, a distant decendant of William Wallace by the way, a pity he died before TV. I think he would have enjoyed a lot of todays technology. Possibly got some of my love of tinkering with things from him as well. Scotty or James Doohan in real life was one of the Star Trek characters that was a hero in his own right, always ready to go the extra mile to get the Enterprise on line... so even being a Canadian by birth I salute him in the language of a true Scot, Soraidh laoch Scotty! (Hope my syntax is correct.) Today's lyrics come from Sarah Connor and Zero to Hero, a upbeat tribute to a TV hero of mine. She is German by the way...
Baby, now I'm gonna get my message to you
And I hope that you believe that it's true
And maybe take some time but all that's in your mind
You can make it come true
And it's crazy, that the people wait for someone who's strong
Even though they could do it on their own
'Cause everyone of us has a hero in his heart

So this is your time, you can take it
And love is no crime, you should make it
Whenever you feel you gotta go deep inside your soul
From zero to hero
So this is your life, you can live it
And if you feel love, just go out and give it
Whenever you know you gotta go deep inside your soul
From zero to hero

Baby, you've been falling deep in love with a girl
You're so happy, wanna tell the whole world
You better wait a while, until you make her smile
And you'll know she loves you, too
Don't be lazy, gotta prove to her your love is so strong
And without her all you do is just wrong
She will be loving you for the hero in your heart

So this is your time, you can take it
And love is no crime, you should make it
Whenever you feel you gotta go deep inside your soul
From zero to hero
So this is your life, you can live it
And if you feel love, just go out and give it
Whenever you know you gotta go deep inside your soul
From zero to hero

Take your chances baby
You can make it through
From a zero to a hero
Just follow your soul

So this is your time, this is your time, you can take it
Love ain't a crime, so you should make it
This is your live and you'll be living it
From zero to hero
So this is your time, you can take it
And love is no crime, you should make it
Whenever you feel you gotta go deep inside your soul
From zero to hero
So this is your life, you can live it
And if you feel love, just go out and give it
Whenever you know you gotta go deep inside your soul
From zero to hero

Wins a girl's heart
