Sounds of Silence

Today I got to hear one of the most amazing vesions of Simon and Garfunkel's Sounds of Silence, from South African band The Awakening, it comes from their album Sacrificial Etchings:

Somehow their version brings the lyrics to their true meaning, much more than in the original... keeping up with the theme reminds me of other songs with silence in the title, The Tremeloes - Silence is Golden, Delerium - Silence, Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence, Blank and Jones - Perfect Silence makes me think that music and silence are synonomous somehow...
Silence is Golden - Tremeloes
Oh, don't it hurt deep inside
To see someone do something' to her
Oh, don't it pain to see someone cry
Oh, es'pecialy when someone is her.

Silence is goldenbut my eyes still see.
Silence is golden golden.
But my eyes still see

Talkin' is' cheap
people follow like sheep.
Even tho' there is nowhere to go
How could she tell he decelved her so well
Pity she'll be the last one to know.

Silence is goldenbut my eyes still see.
Silence is golden golden.

But my eyes still see.

How many times did she fall for his line
Should I tell he or should I keep cool
and if I tried I know she'd say I lied
mind your busness dont hurt her you foll.

Silence is goldenbut my eyes' still see.
Silence is golden golden.
But my eyes still see.
But my eyes still see.
But my eyes still see.
"After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music." Aldous Huxley (1894 - 1963), "Music at Night"
