Today, Spring Day in the southern hemisphere by the way, KatieB, myself and B had a mini adventure, we had a picnic at Soetdoring game reserve, not much game was seen but we were able to hear the silence out in the wilds...We did see a lot of Guinea fowl and a few buck, plenty plovers and an eagle as well as a hawk, most were too fast for the camera... drat. Some of the smallest things amazed us as well, there was this beetle, about the size of a full stop that had the most iridescent colour. Truly amazing how even the smallest creature was able to show the wonder of nature.
We also heard other noises in the bush but decided to let whatever was making the ruckus do it in peace...
The food was also excellent even though I say so myself, nothing beats dining alfresco in nature.
So I say thank you to my co adventurers for taking me away from the rush of the city to the peace of the veld, next time the Lion enclosure will hopefully be open and we can get some pictures of the mighty beasts...
Driving back Matt White's song Best Days was playing and I realised that we are living some of the best days of our lives, even with all the glitches and accidents. It is an attitude... and may this be the best September ever. I could not find a video with Matt but this one is quite well done and at least you can hear the song...
